A note from the Head…
Yesterday, Mrs Faulkner wrote to parents to share the report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate, following the inspection of Hesketh House at the start of the last half-term. For those who haven’t yet had chance to see it, the report – in which the school was graded as “Excellent” in each category - can be found on the School’s website here.
I hope that you enjoy reading the report, which is a marvelous reflection of the hard work and achievements of the pupils and of my colleagues, and testament to their dedication and commitment to all aspects of Hesketh House life. I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank them for their significant efforts during inspection week and throughout the year, and to all those parents who completed the inspectors’ questionnaire and offered their feedback and support to myself and my colleagues.
We are all delighted and incredibly proud!

Pupil Achievements
We celebrated a range of achievements this week in our assembly, very well done to everyone on their various successes! Worth a particular mention are Francesca Longton, who recently competed in a triathlon in Lytham, and Poppy Rate, who played cricket for Lancashire in a closely fought match against rivals Yorkshire. Well done.
Congratulations also to Isla Jairath, who achieved a Distinction in her Initial Piano Examination, and Arwa Bhatia, who was awarded Distinction in her Pre-Preparatory Piano Examination.
Creative Thinking Gallery
Girls in Year 6 were very excited to engage with a wide range of visitors to their ‘Creative Thinking Gallery’ this week. Not only have they gained a great deal in the course of the project, but it was lovely to see them pass on their enthusiasm and knowledge so confidently. They were excellent in adapting their presentations to their audience, whether that be a Year 2 pupil from Beech House, a member of staff from Senior School or visitors from outside of Bolton School. Well done to the girls, and also to the staff who have really engaged with this rethinking assessment and real world learning research, in collaboration with Bill Lucas at the University of Winchester.

Year 6 Trip to Quarry Bank Mill
Wednesday 7 June
Year 6 had the opportunity of visiting Quarry Bank Mill on Wednesday, in order to enrich their understanding of life in the Victorian years. Their experience in the Apprentice House, learning about the living conditions and duties expected from young children, was invaluable and really brought to life the reality of history outside of the constraints of the classroom. It was lovely to hear from the tour guides how well behaved and inquisitive they found our girls to be.
Year 5 andYear6 girls have their recitalnext week, on Thursday 15 June. We would advise parents that there are other events on in school that evening, using the Tudor Avenue Car Park, and we wouldremindyou that theCarPark onDobson Road is also available for parking.
