A note from the Head…
Music Examination Results
We are now at the end of our first full week in School and the girls seem to be settling in to their new routines. I have been particularly impressed with how quickly our new pupils seem to have found their feet – thank you to everyone who has helped them out along the way!
Several girls have recently seen success in their music examinations, well done!
Please could I remind you about our Parent Information Evening on Thursday next week, which is a wonderful opportunity for you to find out more about the class your child is in, what she is doing and how you can support her. Please do try to attend if you are able to, as it is a most valuable meeting. I look forward to seeing you next week. Pupil Achievements
Emails to School
Congratulations to all of these girls, who shared some fantastic achievements with us in assembly this week. We celebrated awards in various sporting activities including dancing, gymnastics, lacrosse, netball, running, scuba diving, swimming and tennis, as well as some excellent fundraising, music results and even awards from a dog show!
Please could we ask parents to include their child’s name and form in any email communication with School, as this enables us to deal with queries more efficiently. Parent Information Evening Thursday 22 September, 7.00pm All parents are invited to attend the Parent Information Evening, now being held on Thursday 22 September. This is an opportunity to meet with the class teachers to find out more about general School routines, as well as specific information relating to each particular year group. In addition, Mrs Kyle will be present to talk to Year 6 parents about the transition to the Senior School, the Entrance Examination and admissions process. This is a very useful event and I would urge all parents to attend if they possibly can. An email has been sent to parents this week.
Please do encourage your daughter to let us know of her achievements outside of School. We are not always able to put everything in our Newsletter, but we do like to celebrate pupil successes in our Achievement Assemblies, which are held on Friday mornings.
Hesketh House Parent Information Booklet On joining the School, parents are provided with a copy of our Information Booklet. The latest copy can be found here. Instrumental Music Lessons
Coach Travel In order to support our younger pupils travelling on the school coaches, we ask that all pupils in the Junior and Infant schools sit at the front of the coach, and in the case of double decker coaches, downstairs. Pupils in the Boys’ and Girls’ Divisions should leave a sufficient number of seats on their coach to allow for this and have been made aware of what that equates to on their specific coach route. This seating arrangement allows the driver to support the younger pupils more readily, as well as allowing our older pupils to converse with their peers in a more relaxed manner.
If you wish your daughter to start individual music lessons, please apply directly to your chosen teacher using the information contained in the VMT brochure, attached here, to check on vacancies. If you have any questions, please contact the Foundation Head of Instrumental Studies, Mr Forgrieve – ikf@boltonschool.org. Hesketh House Rucksacks These backpacks are sold by the PA and need to be bought from the Hesketh House office, they are not available in the uniform shop. If anyone needs a new rucksack please send in £15 in a named envelope with your daughter.
