GUIDE TO MEMBER BENEFITS

Equipping CRE Leaders For Today and Tomorrow Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia (BOMA Georgia) recently graduated its first class of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Leadership Masters Program students on June 2, 2016. The program concluded with a capstone project that allowed students to demonstrate the concepts and principles gained during the course to address real-world current and future challenges. The comprehensive and innovative leadership program began as a BOMA Georgia strategic priority in 2015 and became a reality in February of 2016 when the first class commenced with a two-day retreat in Athens, Ga. This leadership experience is more accurately described as a journey that includes five excursions or classes following the kickoff retreat. The program featured a variety of instruction styles, including experiential

learning, both in teams and as an individual; executive coaching sessions; extracurricular coursework; and the aforementioned capstone project that was presented at the conclusion. On October 20, BOMA Georgia will conduct its Fall Free Seminar on the topic Overcoming Challenges: A CRE Leadership Masters Approach. The seminar features three program graduates presenting their capstone projects. Other program graduates from the inaugural class will also be there to share their experience. BOMA members can attend this meeting for free. Register online at www.BOMAGeorgia.org.

The CRE Leadership Masters Program was an amazing experience for me on many levels. The tools and information shared, and the learning that transpired was inspirational. The personal growth and development that each of us absorbed, not only made us better leaders, it made us better human beings. -RUSSELL C. COPELAND Cushman & Wakefield

The next round of applications for the 2018 CRE Leadership Masters Program will start being accepted in late 2017. Equipping your company’s leaders is just one of the ways that BOMA Georgia is ‘Building Value’ for you and the CRE industry.

All graduates earned the HP Certificate and three of the RPA designated students have enhanced their BOMI designations with the HP appended to their RPA and/or FMA. “The HP program is an innovative and practical way for real estate professionals to expand their knowledge of high performance buildings and environmental sustainability, while directly benefiting the properties they own, manage, or operate,” said BOMA Georgia Executive Director Gabriel Eckert, FASAE, CAE. “It is exciting to see Georgians to be among the first in North America to earn the HP designation.”
