T
he Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Greater Minneapolis is pleased to recognize our local competitors in The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) competition 2013. The TOBY Award is the most prestigious and comprehensive award in the commercial real estate industry, honoring the best properties in 14 categories to recognize those that exemplify superior building quality and excellence in building management.
Winners from among these competitors will advance to the regional level of the competition and then onward to the international level. Best wishes to our local competitors as they strive to win the regional and international competition awards. Local winners will be announced on February 14, 2013. International winners will be announced at the BOMA International Every Building Conference & Expo in San Diego, California on June 25, 2013.
Participants are judged on the effectiveness of their overall management in various categories, including energy management systems, tenant/employee relations programs, emergency preparedness, community involvement and other overall quality indicators.

The 31-story Class-A high-rise consists of 620,566 rentable square feet and is located in the Minneapolis Central Business District. A classic design, utilizing the timeless materials of granite, marble, stainless steel and glass, creates a richness of texture and style in public lobbies. AT&T Tower offers column-free floor plates averaging 19,500 square feet. Amenities include underground parking, two building conference rooms, The Place for Wellness (the AT&T Tower fitness center), a full time concierge and an ATM. The AT&T Tower is located at the south end of the CBD, allowing tenants direct access to major freeway arteries, the Minneapolis Skyway System and major public transit routes.
The Tower was built by Ryan Companies in 1991 and is constructed of structural steel with a vision and spandrel glass façade. Distinctive architectural elements include outward canted windows and a spectacular four-story “hexarium” atrium with a tiered dome and six illuminated green glass pillars.
