MULTI-SPORTS COURT

New and improved works to the multi-sports court at GA Sports Centre have now been complete.

The multi-sports court has 2 basketball courts, a volleyball and football area.

Construction of the new football field will begin soon.

Elche Council is an example as they treat and reuse 100% of their water for irrigation or like El Clot, nature base solutions supporting natural habitats. Sadly, this is a very different strategy that the one followed by the Santa Pola Council.

As you probably know this year El Carabassi beach had to be closed to the public during the summer due to the high levels of ‘poo’ in the water. During high season, Santa Pola simply pushes the overflow of untreated water directly to the sea as the treatment plant next to Panorama area cannot cope with the extra visitors. This is one of many reasons as to why we oppose further building projects in Gran Alacant, existing infrastructure cannot simply cope!

THE BIGGER PICTURE - INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR

Santa Pola exhibits gastronomy, water sports and the best beaches at the international tourism fair in Madrid.

The Mayor of Santa Pola, Loreto Serrano Pomares, and Councilor for Tourism, Julio Miguel Baeza Andreu, attended the international tourism fair FITUR in Madrid to exhibit and promote Gran Alacant and Santa Pola.

The Councilor for Tourism, Julio Baeza said, “Thanks to good management, we have obtained 2.4 million euros from European funds for tourist infrastructures. One of the first things that we will see is the protection and enhancement of our archaeological heritage, which is also a very important tourist resource. At this FITUR exhibition we are going to show the world all the good that Santa Pola has to offer”.

During the 2 days of the fair, there was a 2-minute drone footage of Santa Pola showing the beauty of the Santa Pola coastline including the lighthouse viewpoint, passing through all the beaches and Tabarca, to the natural park of the salt mines of Santa Pola.
