Turkey Chase

Sunday December 18th

The yearly turkey chase took place on a beautiful December morning. It was well attended with everyone wearing something and Chris Harding, Les and Sue Bounds who donated the turkey crowns, Julia and Ian Hamilton who donated the eggs and of course the chickens. Chris thanked Joan, Sue and Howie for as usual organising the Turkey Chase. Also thank you to Lynda Saunders who donated her winnings from the bonus ball to the Club.

Christmas Day

On Christmas morning about twelve members organised a roll up which was enjoyed by all who attended. After the roll relating to Christmas. The turkey crowns were won by Cindy Bedford with twenty one shots and Ian Hamilton with twenty shots. The eggs were won by June Young who played her first game of bowls since having her knee replacement, well done June!! and Les Bounds. Thank you to Joan up they were joined by more members and enjoyed Christmas lunch and drinks at the Belfry.

Monte Mar Matadors v Greenlands Elms

On Thursday 5th January the Matadors travelled to Greenlands for their rearranged match. The Matadors got off to a slow start but we ended up with a good result. Winning on four rinks well done to: Diane Horsington, Cindy Bedford skip John Hunt, Ronnie Cairns, Barry Watson skip David Eades, Gina Hindle, Steve Hindle skip Keith Young, Sheila Roberts, Chris Harding skip Joan Harding.

Shots Matadors 90 – 75 Elms.

Points Matadors 10 – 2 Elms.

Birthday Celebrations

The first birthday celebration was for Cindy Bedford which was held at the Belfry. After a very enjoyable lunch we all went to the Pub to listen to Mr Bo Jangles.

GAL’s

On Tuesday afternoon 17th January sixteen ladies from GAL’s came to the club to have a go at bowling. After Howie explained the basics to the ladies they all tried a few ends bowling. They enjoyed the bowling, drinks and a chat after, so hopefully some will join the club.

The second birthday celebration was for our Chairman Chris Harding who was 80! It was a lovely afternoon we had very enjoyable tapas and of course drinks followed by great entertainment, Elvis!!!
