Bonaventure was born in France in 1992. He discovered his passion for design and craft when he moved to England. After completing school he started a year long apprenticeship at Dominic Ash Ltd a highly regarded Bespoke furniture and kitchen maker in the Cotswolds. At the age of 19 he moved to Somerset to study at Williams and Cleal furniture school where he sharpened his skills with some of the best furniture makers in the UK including teachers that have won numerous accolades over the past years. He was hand picked by Wallpaper for the graduate directory 2012 in their annual ‘recee of the guns who are hitting the creative bullseye’. Later he moved to London to gain more experience in industrial design, working for 3 years at Crispin & Gemma Furniture Design. In 2016 he returned to Paris to launch ‘Tout Bon’ where his designs are very much influenced by midcentury Scandinavian designs. He moved into a collaborative workshop ‘Cardew Bonniot’, based in Ivry en Seine where today he shares the premises with other experienced wood craftsmen and cabinet makers.

I wanted to design an object that was a mixture of two designers that I greatly admire. Finn Juhl for his Chair 45 and Hans Wegner CH25. This unique chair was completely hand made. the Y shaped frame is the retake form the CH25. It’s made from ash that has been burnt, using the ‘’shou sugi ban’’ japanese technic, giving it a real texture and inhances the life lifespan of the wood. The arms and front legs are part of forniture, using a high quality french walnut.

BH45 45°
BH 45 is a simple and timeless piece of furniture that will fit into most environments. One of my clients asked me to design a versatile object that could serve diverse purposes in their home. It can be used as a bench for your dinner table, an ‘end of bed’ stool or just somewhere to place a coat, computer or a book. The simplicity in the design is what makes it beauty, using a single piece of solid Elm for the top part that has been carefully selected for it’s unique character.

Console This console’s understated design and elegant lines would add character to any space in your home without being too dominant. This piece is completely made from oak. The discreet single drawer, which can be lined with leather as an option, blends in with the drawer. The middle drawer was made to lighten the console’s front view by allowing the lines to blend into each other.

RORANGE Fun orange
I love its visual simplicity which enhances its contemporary retro design look. The simple lines combined with the fun orange and the colour of the wood convey warmth and happiness. My aim was to create an end result that lifts the spirit. The frame is made from Ash, using ingrained wood for the corner. The fragrant orange is Charlotte’s locks from Farrow and Ball This unit has been designed as a multi-media system, it includes a shelf inside for an amplifier and a hole at the back for cables.

PLATES-BOWLS-CHOPPING BOARD BICOLOR
Woodturning is an amazing feeling and very different to being in the workshop making a piece. The process is a lot faster and allows your creativity to flow. You will see plates and bowls made with the white sapwood from a board of elm, creating beautiful bicolored objects. They are a series of plates that can be used every day in the kitchen as a display or to serve food. The chopping board is a new design; you are able to lift the the board thanks a small finger size notch.
