The table it’s a pleace where aggregate family, friends, where coversation, laugh, where problems are solved, where many inspirations are born. Its the most friendly pleace in whole house often. You serving, or someone serve you - not important. You just feel here well.
In our project PORTRAYAL of TABLEWARE XX/XXI CENTURY we tried to illustrate the spirit and feeling of different age/epoch by taking the photography of tableware, dishes or glassware styled within different styles and artmovements. The main sources in our research was the movies, cinama pictures, amazing books and albums like A ‘ t the Emperor’s Table’ of famous fashion guru Valentino and Pinterest photography.
OUR INSPIRATIONS:
“I
f they had told me once that I’d be putting recipes in a book, I would have said, ‘No, this is too much,’” Valentino Garavani declares, as he contemplates Valentino at the Emperor’s Table, surely one of the most lavish recipe books in publishing history.
H
is passion for tabletops began decades ago with a vermeil saltcellar in the shape of a throne that a dinner guest brought as a gift. “I fell so deeply in love with that object that when I saw something similar in a sale, I immediately bought it.” Après ca, le déluge. But if it’s an amusement, it’s also an obsession. Valentino agrees. “People don’t want to break their brain to think about setting a table like this. Who’s going to wash all those plates? It’s complicated.”

CREATING THE MINDMAPS In next stage of our project we’ve focused to find out right materials, surfaces, fabrics, motifes describing in the best way particular time in history of XX century, connected with styels and art movements.
So the Modernism and beginning of XX century was connected with shiny gold, silver, leather, transparent crystalic glasses, pearls, stones like marble, lipstick on the glass, cigarettes. Luxury materials.
For Rebel for instance we reserved the raw fabrics, lines, stripes, jeans, metal, first pop art logos, newspapers, tattos etc.
