Laurie Beckerman, a New York-based designer, created this unusual chair called Ionic Bench. It is made from one-inch thick Baltic birch plywood; the bench’s profile is cut out 18 times with the use of CNC technology. The slices are laminated together for a strong, curvaceous form. The surfaces that reveal the plies are finely sanded and coated with a high–quality Italian acrylic; the result is a seat that is sensuously smooth to the touch.

Tea Kettle by Norm Architect Norm Architects illustrates their take on kitchenwares along with Dutch company Menu, they give a whole new form to the Tea Kettle. The all glass kettle that can be placed directly on your stove top. Tea leaves or bags may be placed inside a tea egg that is attached to a silicone strap. How do you quench some serious thirst and still find room for your make-up kit, iPod and gym wear? Mathieu Lehanneur and Julien Benayoun first developed the project in 2008. Recently, Harvard Professor David Edwards took Benayoun’s place and The Pumpkin was completed. Patterned after the biological cell, the contraption is composed of two detachable parts that clip together for easier transport of water and belongings. The Pumpkin can hold up to 15L of water.
