WELCOME CAMPERS!

Whether this is your first trip to Bonnaroo or your lucky thirteenth visit, we can’t wait to show you around your 700-acre home for the next four days. If this is your first time on The Farm, then we are excited to introduce you to your camp family for the weekend. Soon enough, y’all will be able to rattle off the difference between What, Which, That, This and The Other as quickly as Elton John can hop and bop to “Crocodile Rock.” If you’re already a veteran camper, then we can’t wait to show you what we’ve done with the place. We are particularly excited about our Kalliope Stage. This late-night stage is all about the sound and light experience, boasting speakers that are self-powered and highly efficient to provide a truly once-in-a-festival experience. In the food realm, we are beyond pumped for Hamageddon, home to BaconLand: a bacon-lovers feast. Thanks to Henri, Hamageddon’s metalloving mascot, it won’t be hard to find. Mardi Gras-inspired parades have long been one of our hallmarks too, and this year, you can join the festivities. This Bonnaroo lineup truly is our biggest, best and broadest yet. If you want to sing along with some bona fide legends, we’ve got alternative-rock icons Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, as well as a rare U.S. festival performance by the “Rocket Man” himself, Elton John. For those of you who were originally hooked by Bonnaroo’s own roots in independent-minded rock, we are welcoming back our old friend and unofficial Nashville mayor Jack White for his first What Stage headlining set, along with returning favorites like indie-pop princes Vampire Weekend, French alternative-rock heroes Phoenix, Americana troubadours The Avett Brothers, soulful family group Tedeschi Trucks Band and jamband titans Umphrey’s McGee. If hip-hop and electronic music are more your thing, then you’ll be psyched to hear one of the genre’s living legends Kanye West play Roo for the first time since 2008. Also, undisputed dubstep king Skrillex will perform a massive late-night set on the Which Stage and anchor one of our annual SuperJams. Speaking of SuperJams, we are proud to present three very different and desitively Bonnaroo all-star collaborations. Long one of our calling cards, this year’s SuperJams include collaborations led by such diverse artists as Derek Trucks, Skrillex and Ed Helms. We have plenty of excitement on the screen, too. We’re taking our Cinema Tent up a notch by not only bringing an electric mix of films to The Farm but also accompanying those films with a range of Q&As. The Farrelly brothers will even sit down for an in-depth conversation about their work and present two films: their classic bowling comedy Kingpin and a 20th anniversary screening of their first smash success Dumb & Dumber. Of course, none of this would be possible without you, the fans, artists and other community members who make our dream a reality every year. Bonnaroo means “a really good time” in Creole so have fun and remember to live by The Bonnaroovian Code: “Prepare Thy Self,” “Play As A Team,” “Radiate Positivity,” “Respect The Farm,” “Don’t Be That Guy/Gal” and “Stay True Roo.” Sincerely, Superfly & AC Entertainment 5

A WORD ABOUT OUR

This year, Bonnaroo celebrates its 13th birthday. Looking back, we’ve always been more than a music festival. For many of us, it’s a home away from home and an experience that carries on long after we leave The Farm. The festival is a bustling city featuring new music, art, comedy, film, food and drink, friends and much more. The success of this event would not be possible without our partners, who enhance the Bonnaroo experience on our beautiful site for every attendee, artist and staff member. We would like to sincerely thank all of our partners for supporting our music, our community and our charities. We collaborate with brands to create experiences and attractions that will make your weekend on The Farm a better one. For you, Bonnaroo veterans, you’ll notice some familiar brands that have become loyal friends of the festival. Garnier Fructis is returning this year to keep the showers running so that you can stay clean and get a fresh hairstyle. Glimpse into the future of music at the New Music On Tap Lounge brewed by Miller Lite with a lineup of this year’s up-and-coming artists. Drop by the The Garage by Ford to catch an intimate artist performance, juice up your cell phone and make a custom silk-screen t-shirt. Craving Bonnaroo’s Ben & Jerry’s flavor Coffee Caramel Buzz? Fear not! Ben & Jerry’s is back giving out tastes from noon to 6 p.m. daily. For the first time this year, The Game Stage powered by Xbox One, next to the Ferris Wheel, will feature the hottest games from Titanfall to Just Dance. Be sure to connect your RFID wristband to OneDrive to create your own Bonnaroo Photo History. Make sure you keep your eyes open for PayPal, who will be giving out swag in the campgrounds all weekend long. For all the ladies out there, you can thank Olay for providing some special bathrooms exclusively for you. Stop by the #ReadytoRoo Upgrade Lounge by Teva to check out the latest and greatest in festival footwear. Do you love to get down late-night? Our friends at Red Bull Music Academy will be bringing some musical prodigies to the Sonic Stage on Friday and Saturday nights. And for your friends who can’t be here, take comfort in knowing that they can still catch the epic performances via the Bonnaroo app on Xbox Live. Bonnaroo is the perfect place to try something new, so wander off the path and explore all of the activities and attractions that we have to offer. There isn’t a shortage of unique experiences here, and we can’t wait to hear about all of them. Again, we would like to extend a thank you to all of our partners, whose support not only makes Bonnaroo possible for us, but also makes it more enjoyable for you.

W

e know that Bonnaroo is a lot more than just a music festival—it is a community and a lifestyle that embraces being a part of something bigger than yourself and, in large part, that includes giving back.

Perpetuating that lifestyle year-round is the Bonnaroo Works Fund, the charitable arm of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. Our mission is to make the world a better place by supporting national and local organizations that advance the arts, education and the environment with a focus on sustainability and local re-investment. To date, the Bonnaroo Works Fund has donated upward of $5 million to nearly 100 causes, with a significant number of programs and projects in the Manchester-Coffee County area. Just a few of the past grant recipients include: Coffee County Schools, Manchester Municipal Arts Commission, Musicians On Call, Tennessee Environmental Council and VH1-Save the Music Foundation. The Bonnaroo Works Fund raises awareness and funds to support these causes through a number of different programs. First, $2 from every Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival ticket is donated to the BWF. During the festival, and throughout the year, there are several on-site and online auctions, with proceeds benefiting the BWF organizations. In addition, there are the Roo Run and Ben & Jerry’s Bonnaroo Buzz, both providing support for the Bonnaroo Works Fund. The Bonnaroo Works Fund also relies on the generous support of the Bonnaroovian community. This year, we invite you to participate in a few fundraising initiatives, and 100% of your support will benefit the Fund’s 2014-15 grant recipients. New this year is ‘The Wall’—a permanent, physical, on-site structure in Centeroo, where those who donate $100 or more will be recognized by name. For those of you who want to show support with $1-$99, you will also be recognized on Bonnaroo.com’s Virtual Wall. It’s a great way to show your support for BWF, perpetuate the Bonnaroo lifestyle and help make a meaningful difference.

18

Also on-site this year, you’re invited to participate in ‘Not a Raffle’— two guitars will be displayed in cases in Centeroo, each one collecting new artist signatures daily. By making a small contribution to the Bonnaroo Works Fund (encouraged but not necessary), you will be automatically entered in a drawing to win the signed guitar. And, you’ll be helping great causes because 100% of your donation will go to support the BWF programs. And just when you think you’ve been there, done that, there’s Ticket To Rise: an experience that gives Earth dwellers the chance to win a Private Trip to Space! You’ll travel to deep space on the second Lynx spacecraft, the Mark II, reaching an altitude of 103 km (338,000 feet). Because of this altitude, by rule of the international space agencies, the participants of the Mark II flight will receive the title of “Astronaut” upon their return. Entering is simple and there are a ton of ways to increase your chances! Check it out at www.urgencynetwork.com. There’s a LOT more to come! Thanks for doing your part in making the Bonnaroo Works Fund work!

ROOT FOR ROO

Bonnaroovians can now leave their permanent mark on The Farm in the best way possible: their very own tree. With the Root for Roo program, you can now honor your C’roo or commemorate your Bonnaroo experience with the sponsorship of a tree planted on the festival site—either a Tulip Poplar or Oak, both of which are native to the area. Trees, like sponges, can help sequester carbon and provide a habitat for wildlife, food for people and animals, and stabilize the soil. If planted in the right place, then trees can also cut cooling costs by up to 50 percent and create enough oxygen annually for a family of four. Root for Roo offers the opportunity to sponsor a 3” to 4” caliper tree, which includes a tree marker so that you can find your tree onsite, and a commemorative plaque with a photo and information about the tree. In addition, you can track your tree’s progress, thanks to annual updates via a personalized tree profile page on the website that will display current pictures and data on its growth. Plus, you will be recognized on Bonnaroo.com’s Virtual Wall. It’s a great way to show your support for BWF, perpetuate the Bonnaroo lifestyle and help make a meaningful difference. The trees are sourced and planted by Southbranch Nursery Co., a locally owned nursery in Manchester. Proceeds benefit Keep Coffee County Beautiful. For more information, or to adopt your very own Bonnaroo tree, please visit www.rootforroo.com.

ome to Bonnaroo for the music, but stay for the food. This year’s festival amps up its culinary offerings with a Pulp Fiction-themed diner, an area devoted to bacon and a diverse selection of food trucks and vendors that will ensure you go home full. Not sure where to eat? We’ll help you sort through the pickings and find what suits your tastebuds. Tennessee is, of course, best known for its BBQ, which you can find in various incarna tions around the festival. Prater’s BBQ,

consisting of 14 ingredients—topped with our homemade honey scallion sauce and layered with shredded hash browns and pepper-crusted bacon. Last year, Adam Richman featured this dish on his TV show Fandemonium. The PCB was a big hit before Adam tasted it, and now, it’s even that much more popular.” The truck has something for everyone, too. If you’re vegan, try the Toi An Chay or The Bad Hunter. “Toi An Chay is a rice bowl mixed with mushrooms, onion, spinach,

which has been serving up pork sandwiches and smoked wings at Bonnaroo since 2002, is the returning favorite, and will be joined by Knoxville’s Bull’s BBQ this year. Bull’s (which also has some vegetarian and vegan options) offers pulled pork sandwiches, smoked portobello sandwiches and smoked sweet potatoes. If you’re into meat, but looking for something a little different, the Eatbox food truck has returned for its fourth year to sell balls—meatballs, that is. If you’re having trouble deciding on the menu, Eatbox’s Jonathan Coffman has the solution. “Get the PCB without a doubt,” Coffman says. “It’s eight ounces of hand-rolled meatballs— 24

sunflower, black beans and garlic,” Coffman says. “The Bad Hunter is a lentil-based veggie ball. It’s mixed with oatmeal, mushrooms, red wine and some garlic.” But hurry. “The Toi An Chay is by far the most popular,” he adds. “We sold out last year by Saturday morning.” If you’re not vegan, then head immediately to Hamageddon, a new addition to the festival, which highlights the best part of the pig. Henri, an epic 22-foot long, two-ton steel pig will be on hand as the mascot. (Just follow his smell or look near the Broo’ers Festival.) There, you can try BaconLand’s Bacon Flight, featuring five different types of bacon, and nosh on BLTs, grilled cheese with bacon and bacon and egg sandwiches.

Another new addition this year is Puffs of Doom, which owner Rebecca VanderKloot describes as “cream puffs gone wild.” Located in Centeroo, the stand offers various made-from-scratch sweet, savory, ice cream, vegan and gluten free puffs, including The Salted Caramel Chocolate Puff and The Bacon Ranch Mac & Cheese Puff. “We think we are the perfect festival food,” VanderKloot says. “The puffs are big enough to be a meal, but small enough to not make you need to lay down. The ice cream puffs cool you down in the heat and our savory puffs will help keep you going through the night. We can’t wait to be out in the sun, sharing our cream puffs with lots of people while fantastic music plays in the background.” Another good place for sweets is The Amish Baking Company, a Bonnaroo favorite that makes more than 10,000 dough nuts at the festival each year. (The most popular is the vanilla-glazed doughnut.) The

company sells hand-rolled pretzels, as well, which seem to strike a chord with the festival crowd. “Bonnaroovians, at large, actively seek out the good life,” The Amish Baking Company’s Nathan Peachey says. “Good food is at the top of the list. The long lines at our stands resonate that. What I love most about Bonnaroo is seeing the happiness on all the faces when everyone takes that first bite.” Something else you’ll want to line up for is a mobile diner built in honor of the 20th anniversary of Pulp Fiction by Gastropod’s Chef Jeremiah (who, notably, is also Rick Ross’ personal chef). The diner, built inside a shipping container, can be found adjacent to the Cinema Tent and features requisite offerings like the Royale With Cheese and The Big Kahuna. Just try not to reenact the film while you’re in there. So what are you going to eat this year? Hopefully, a little bit of everything. 25

Four days of camping and living with the same people can get a little tedious, so—just in case crazily running from one stage to another to see amazing bands isn’t exciting enough—here are some games you can play to keep things interesting:

UP EARLY/UP LATE: 1 Be awake

at, oh, say, 6-7 a.m. This is the hardest part of the game. 2 Take a walk through Centeroo with a friend. Bring some $1 bills. 3 Take a look at the other people around you, and figure out if you think they’re up early or up late. 4 Tell your friend: “I bet $1 that guy is up late. Look at how wide those eyes are.” Or, conversely say, “That dude is definitely up early. He looks like he’s ready for a run!” 5 Go up to the guy and ask him. 6 Pay up.

BONNAROO BINGO 1 Someone playing a Theremin, whether it’s onstage or not 2 Someone doing “The Carlton” between 2:30-3:00 a.m., in Snake & Jake’s Christmas Club Barn 3 A girl wearing a Guns N’ Roses shirt who was not alive when Appetite For Destruction was released 4 A guy wearing a CBGB shirt who has never been to New York 36

BONNAROO MINI GAMES

Get together with a group of friends and be the first to complete each of these challenges:

Move from the far left of the main stage to the far right of the second stage. Photo evidence required.

See the most bands play at least one song all the way through over the course of the weekend.

Try to have a conversation starter lead to receiving a Meet the person who phone number or traveled the farthest a Snapchat to get to the Roo. Meet people from all 50 states

The first one of your friends to find every one of these wins:

5 Someone who catches himself singing the wrong words to a song, yet continues as if no one noticed 6 Someone who can identify every single person onstage during a SuperJam 7 A band that covers a Bob Dylan song (or a DJ who drops a Bob Dylan cut into their set) 8 Skrillex

9 A piece of schwag from a company whose ties to the festival are tenuous at best bk A photo of the inside of the movie tent bl A comedian who has appeared on Workaholics bm A shoe— a single, solitary shoe bn A band in costumes that would normally be reserved for Halloween bo The most “colorful” person at Bonnaroo

So channel your inner gremlins and get out your weird wear because we will be scouting for the best of the best to bestow tickets for Bonnaroo 2015, as well as other terrifyingly awesome prizes. Have no fear, if costuming ain’t your thing, you can still play along. RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY BASS CAMP & STAGE Red Bull Music Academy and Bonnaroo have teamed up to create a special village on site with permanent recording studios and living spaces called the RBMA BASS CAMP. By day, 20 hand-selected musicians from around the country have been invited here to collaborate and create new music throughout the weekend in these fully stocked, custom-built studios. They will 47

learn from internationally recognized artists who will give talks about their approach, inspirations, and experiences. By night, you can hear them yourself in Centeroo when the Sonic Stage transforms into the RBMA Stage, where they will be performing alongside some very special guests. The Red Bull Music Academy is a world-traveling series of music workshops and festivals, held in a different city globally each year. You can tune in to the best lectures and interviews at www.rbmaradio.com/bonnaroo.

THE CLEAN VIBES TRADING POST RECYCLE & WIN TWO TICKETS TO BONNAROO 2015! This year welcomes back the Clean Vibes Trading Post, a nonprofit project that wants to reward YOU for your green behavior. Help recycle as much as possible at Bonnaroo by trading in your cans, cups and bottles for cool prizes! The recyclables earn you point vouchers and the more you collect, the more valuable items you can “purchase.” In addition to encouraging and rewarding recycling, the Clean Vibes Trading Post has always aimed to help reduce cigarette-butt litter on site. Stop by the Trading Post and pick up a small bag, fill it with cigarette butts, and turn it in for points just like the cans and bottles. Did you know the Clean Vibes Trading Post can now RECYCLE those butts? When you pick up your bags, don’t forget to ask a Trading Post staff member about how we recycle the most commonly littered item in America.

Turn in your bags of recycling or cigarette butts at the Clean Vibes Trading Post or any Campground Pod and receive point vouchers. Stop by the Clean Vibes Trading Post in Planet Roo and exchange the vouchers for your choice of a variety of awesome prizes– from earth-friendly health and beauty products, camping gear and organic clothing to autographed band merchandise and food vendor vouchers. The person who trades in the most recycling throughout the weekend will receive two tickets to next year’s event! The Clean Vibes Trading Post is the nonprofit arm of Clean Vibes, a company dedicated to the responsible waste and recycling management of outdoor festivals and events. Clean Vibes has been a part of all of the previous Bonnaroo festivals, handling the trash and recycling management for each event. Over the past 12 years, Clean Vibes has diverted more than four million pounds of recyclable and compostable material produced at the festival from the landfill.

THE ACADEMY The Academy in Planet Roo offers a full day of interactive arts experiences with workshops in art, theater, percussion, break dancing, instrument building and gardening. Check The Academy schedule for times or stop by the tent to see what is offered each day.

BONNAROO LEARNING CENTER Located in Planet Roo outside the post office, you can participate in workshops and learn how to grow your own garden in the Bonnaroo Learning Garden. There are volunteers on hand throughout the weekend to answer all of your gardening questions: learn the do’s and don’ts of wild foraging, how to compost, how to garden in small places, how to create a culinary herb garden, how to plant your own shiitake mushroom logs and much more!

REFILL REVOLUTION! Help reduce our consumption of plastics by refilling your water bottles. In addition to our usual free high-quality well water (similar to tap), we have free filtered drinking water stations where you can fill up your water bottle throughout the festival. Become part of the solution to reduce waste (specifically, plastic pollution), fill up your own bottle and join the Refill Revolution! We are partnering

with Steely’s Drinkware and the Plastic Pollution Coalition to bring you affordable high-quality water bottles and beer cups. There are very limited quantities of each of the water bottles and beer cups, so get ’em quick before they are gone!

WATER BOTTLES: We have created a limited edition Bonnaroo Steely’s food-grade stainless-steel water bottle that you can pick up at all concession stands and participating vendors for only $5. Your bottle can then can be filled and refilled an infinite number of times at any of the water refill mushrooms on site; in fact, all of the water at Bonnaroo is drinkable. It comes directly from our wells so there is no trucking in of water, which makes the program even more sustainable! Participating vendors will also accept the bottles to fill with beverages they are selling. Stay hydrated in style and reduce your waste in a big way this year with these fabulous water bottles!

BEER CUPS: Buy your Refill Revolution, Steely’s food grade stainless-steel beer cup at beer stands, but buy it quickly! Between the limited quantities and the amazing deal, this cup will be gone FAST! The reusable cups will be sold anywhere draft beer is sold (except the Broo’ers Festival) for $15. What do you get for $15, you might be asking? An amazing cup, a handy-dandy set-up to attach this to your bag or belt loop and it will come full of refreshing, cold beer. As if that wasn’t awesome enough, you also get $1 OFF ALL subsequent beer purchases (except in the Broo’ers Festival) made with the Refill Revolution cup.

WORK IT OUT You can’t radiate positivity without energy. Energy comes from friends, tunes and fresh food, but also from being physically fit. We want to make your body move at Bonnaroo. That’s why this year our active lifestyle program is bigger and better than ever before.

ROO RUN On your mark, get set, sweat! The official Bonnaroo 5k is back for the second year in a row. Race with friends across a course that twists through the pods and camp grounds, or just hang on the sidelines and cheer. The Roo Run is a great way to greet the day and kickstart your body for a long weekend. The event starts at 9 a.m. sharp on Saturday. Only registered racers can run, but all are invited to get wild on the sidelines. Stop by the Roo Run booth near the Cuckoo Clock on Friday for details.

YOGA ROO Have your own private yoga sesh any time, anywhere on The Farm. We encourage it. But we’ve brought in the pros to blast the Bonnaroo yoga program into high gear. Sun up to sundown, an eclectic mix of classes will be taking place at designated yoga zones across the festival grounds. Leave your mat at home (don’t pass on our grass). Check the Activites page on the Bonnaroo website under Work It Out or the printed Bonnaroo program for class times.

GENERAL INFO ENTRY POLICY The Neighborhood

Although Bonnaroo is a little magical kingdom, the real-world town of Manchester, Tennessee surrounds us. With your help, we want to make sure we’re considerate of our neighbors to ensure we’re welcomed back. When you’re outside the festival grounds, remember that you are out there. Show some Bonnaroo love.

Wristbands

We use an ultra-high security wristband system called RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) that equips each wristband with its own uniquely coded chip. Wristbands must be worn at all times. Your wristband will be scanned each time you enter/exit Centeroo, The Arch, the Woodlands entrance to What Stage and when you enter/exit the campgrounds at the tollbooths. Do not tamper with your wristband in any way. Do not cut it, burn it, stretch it, fold, spindle or mutilate it. Altered wristbands will be invalid and any person in possession of an altered wristband will be charged a replacement fee or may be ejected from the festival site. If you have any questions or problems with your wristband (even if it itches) visit

55

one of the three Wristband Customer Service stations located at the Centeroo entrance, The Arch and the Woodlands entrance to What Stage.

RE-ENTRY POLICY

Day parkers may enter and leave only through the West Tollbooth. Note, inbound traffic may be very heavy on Thursday and Friday – it may take a little longer for day parkers to enter on those days. No cars can be left overnight.

In + Out Of Campgrounds In A Vehicle

Emergency Vehicle Access

We hope you won’t need to leave our little utopia during the festival, but if you do, please wait until traffic subsides. Always use caution and be aware of your surroundings, especially at night – pedestrians and camping gear may be in close proximity. Exiting is only allowed through the East or West Tollbooths. Everyone inside the exiting vehicle must have their wristband scanned out by Bonnaroo staff and scanned back in when they return. If you exit through any other location, or fail to have your wristband scanned in or out, then you and your vehicle will not be allowed to re-enter the festival.

In + Out Of Campgrounds On Foot

You may leave and re-enter the festival grounds on foot at any time and as often as you like, but only through the East and West Tollbooths. You must have your wristband scanned out by Bonnaroo staff and scanned back in when you return. If you do not have your wristband scanned out, you will not be allowed to re-enter the site.

56

Day Parking

Our roads may not look like city streets, but for emergency and maintenance vehicles, they are efficient – as long as they stay clear. Please do not walk in the middle of the road. Walk in the wide shoulders to let official vehicles through.

CAMPING AND CAMPGROUNDS Camping

The campgrounds are conveniently divided into sections by streets (East-West) and avenues (North-South). Each General Admission Campground section is strategic ally named on the official Bonnaroo Site Map so you can find your way home, and tell people where to find you. The campgrounds will close at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 16. As a safety measure, there will be no open fires allowed inside the festival grounds. (This specifically includes the campgrounds.) Please exercise extraordinary caution with matches, disposal of cigarette butts and any other type of open flame.

Family Camping

We ask that all campers in this area respect the family atmosphere by acting in a child-friendly manner and by keeping noise levels to a minimum after dark. Access into the Family Camping area will not be controlled, but there will be security personnel located near POD 7 if you should have any issues that require assistance.

Patrons With Disabilities: Accessible Camping & Parking

POD 2 – Ceremonies

Bonnaroo invites you to celebrate with your loved ones in our nexus of ceremony. Whether it’s your engagement, wedding, birthday or bar mitzvah, we will have our POD Ambassadors on site to assist with your monumental occasion. In the spirit of radiating positivity we’d love to commemorate these moments with you and can’t wait for you to experience this location and make it your own.

The Accessible Camping and Accessible Day Parking areas are reserved for patrons with mobility disabilities. A state-issued accessible parking license plate, placard or hangtag is required to use these areas. The Accessible Camping and Accessible Day Parking areas are close to the Centeroo entrance. Accessible showers are available (for a fee) at POD 4.

POD 6 – Fun + Challenging Games

Campground PODs

Bigger and better! Coffeehouse 2014 comes to you with a plethora of arts and culture. Featuring a variety of interactive workshops — including tarot card readings, coffee tastings, drum circles, record and book swaps, kids arts and crafts, and a community potluck. Full schedule will be posted at POD 7. Be sure to swing by.

Throughout the campgrounds, you will find a series of PODS, or community service centers, set up as a resource for you. At each POD location, you’ll find an Info Booth (staffed by an all-knowing ‘Roo Ambassador), a message board and medical safety staff who are available to assist you all weekend long. PODS are also equipped with mist tents, wash stations and toilets. Locate them on your festival map, or look for the illuminated balloons overhead.

This is where the big kids come out to play! Let the competition ensue as you take on your friends and the opportunity to gain some energy for the nights’ proceedings but more important, walk away with all the bragging rights. Now, the real question is: Are you up for the challenge?

TIPS FROM THE BONNAROO TIP # 1

KEEPYOURSELF (ANDYOURSTUFF)

SAFE

T he Bonnaroo vibe is a beautiful thing, but remember that you are in the middle of a city of 80,000 people, so...

• Lock your valuables in your car or in a Bonnaroo Storage Locker. A tent fly isn’t exactly a locked door. • Be aware of your surroundings. Know where you’re going and who’s around you. • Practice a “neighborhood watch.” If you see something, say something. (Where have we heard that before?) Look for a member of Bonnaroo’s safety team and clue them in. 2 T IP #

LEAVE NO FRIEND

How do we get by? With a little help from our friends, of course! If one of your crew is out of it, is heading for trouble or is vulnerable for any other reason, you have

BEHIND

58

friendship duties to fulfill. Stay close and see them through it. Or if needed, get help. (Remember, our policy is “no questions asked” – anything you tell our medical or safety team is confidential.) Be there for TIP # them like you’d want 3 them to be there for you.

STAY

HYDRATED

You’ve heard this before, and you’re gonna hear it again right now: Drink water (and other non-alcoholic beverages). When should you drink them? Drink before you’re thirsty. Dehydration is the number-one cause of unhappiness at Bonnaroo. Water makes your brain and body work, and you need them both to enjoy Bonnaroo. (Not a water drinker? Then tank up with sports drinks, iced tea or anything else without alcohol. Also, foods like apples, watermelon, pineapple and cucumber are like tasty mini water bottles.) Let us pee completely clear about this…

DEPT. OF HEALTH Easy way to tell if you’re properly hydrated: Your pee should be clear and odorless. If it’s stinky and yellow, then “urine trouble.”

4 TIP #

Medical and safety locations at Bonnaroo are safe havens— meaning, you can’t get in trouble for anything you say to medical or safety staff at Bonnaroo. That’s the deal. So if a friend needs help, please stick around and help fill in the blanks. No one will hassle you. And if you think you might need assistance, don’t worry, speak up. Whatever you tell us is confidential— Bonnaroo staff are here for you and no one else.

T IP # 5

IT'SHOT

Tennessee swelters in the summertime. Even when the sun hides, there’s a good chance you’ll feel like a Moon Pie dipped in hot chocolate sauce. Protect yourself. Pack a hat, breathable clothing and plenty of water. And don’t forget to apply sunscreen early (before you roll out of your tent) and often. Otherwise, risk surrendering your Day 4 to the dogs.

IN HERE

6 TIP #

There’s one easy way to wreck your weekend (and your friends’): drugs and alcohol. Drugs raise your body temperature (sometimes fatally) and drain H2O from your cells, while alcohol dehydrates you. Under the brutal June sun, your body and mind can fry way too easily. And the dangers of combining substances are only multiplied in this environment.

AVOID A

WASTED WEEKEND

59

Showers are not free, but they come with complimentary Garnier Fructis shampoo, conditioner and styling products! Showers cost $7 during peak hours (daily between 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.), and $5 during off-peak hours (daily from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.).

Bathrooms

Bathrooms (accompanied by stand-alone hand-washing stations) are strategically located at each POD, and throughout the campgrounds to meet all your urgent needs. They are cleaned frequently, but they are also used frequently, so please do your part to make the porta-potty experience as clean and enjoyable as possible.

Hand Washing + Water Stations

Hand-washing stations are located at each POD, in Centeroo and the Main Venue, so you can brush those teeth, wet that face, and cleanse that soul. The water at these stations is 100% drinkable, so feel free to fill up your water bottles. Remember, this is not your bathtub — there are showers for bathing.

Showers Hosted By Garnier Fructis

Showers can be found at most POD locations, indicated on your festival map. Showers are operated and cleaned by our very own shower fairies during hours of operation: Wednesday from 9 p.m. – 12 a.m. at POD 1 + 3 (only!). And at all PODS from 6 a.m. – 2 a.m. on Thursday – Sunday, and 6 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Monday. 60

Bonnaroo Golf Cart Service

For a fee, we offer a golf cart taxi service to help you get around the campgrounds. Designated routes are indicated on your festival map, and the taxis are clearly marked so be on the lookout — flag one down to catch a ride!

SAFETY INFORMATION Safety Staff

If you have a security issue, or if you see someone who is sick, upset, scared or clearly having a bad experience, then find a medical tent or festival staff member. Each POD has a staffed security station open 24 hours. And you can find our safety staff roaming throughout the festival grounds (on foot and on horseback) over the course of the weekend. In case of an incident, please do not be scared to provide all the information you can—our “no questions asked” policy means neither you, nor your friend will get in trouble when you seek help. Our number one priority is the well-being of all Bonnaroovians.

Medical Tents

Medical Tents are located at every POD. (Look for the balloons overhead.) There is one in the Main Venue (near The Arch), and two in Centeroo (one between This Tent and the Cinema Tent, and the other by the Ferris Wheel). All medical tents area staffed with licensed professionals who are here to assist you. Things happen—bee stings, armwrestling injuries, faces rocked off while dancing. In an emergency, if you’re not near a medical tent, find a staff person with a radio or notify the nearest security personnel. Tip: If you’re not sure whether it’s an emergency, assume it is and get help right away.

Food Safety

Please don’t buy from unlicensed vendors. We work hard to ensure all official food and drink is deliciously safe. We cannot guarantee quality if you buy something from an unlicensed vendor. Keep yourself safe.

CENTEROO & MAIN VENUE Hours Of Operation

Centeroo is the heart of the festival. It opens at noon on Thursday, June 12th, and will stay open nonstop, just like Las Vegas, until 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 15th. Adjacent to Centeroo is the Main Venue, where the What Stage is located. The Main Venue opens at 1 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and closes after the headliner ends. When you enter these areas, you’ll be searched and you must show your allpowerful wristband. You do not need to purchase a ticket for the various activities throughout Centeroo, with the exception of the Ferris Wheel.

What Is Not Allowed Inside Centeroo + Main Venue

No cans or glass bottles of any kind. No alcohol, video recording devices, professional photography equipment or cameras with detachable lenses longer than 2 inches (point-and-shoot cameras without additional lenses are OK), laser pens or focused-light devices, lawn chairs, or anything that might impair the sight of

61

other spectators (like flags, umbrellas or shade structures). We reserve the right to add items to this list if necessary. All patrons are subject to a search by Bonnaroo security personnel upon entry into Centeroo and the Main Venue. Please be advised that the security companies, facility, promoters and performers will not be responsible for any items that are confiscated during search procedures.

Barricade Arrangements At The What And Which Stage

Following the model of most European festivals, we have implemented a double barricade system in the very front of the What Stage and the Which Stage. This system allows more fans access to the up-front experience over the course of the weekend. As shown in the diagram, the entrances to the pit areas are located at the front of the stage on each side. A queue will be created on both sides along the venue walls. Each pit will be cleared after each performance, allowing a new group of fans to enter the area. You are not allowed to remain in the area to wait for the next concert.

62

If you want to be in a pit for any of the performances at the What or Which Stage, please be sure to get in line well before the performance is scheduled to begin. And keep in mind, you must follow the instructions of all security personnel, who work actively to ensure that you and everyone around you enjoy a great concert experience.

General Store

There are 3 General Stores located on the festival grounds — one in the campgrounds near the Clock Tower, a second in the campgrounds across from The Arch and the third in Centeroo across from the Broo’ers Village Festival. General Stores are open from 9 a.m. – 3 a.m. during the festival (closing earlier on Sunday night) and offer personal hygiene items, batteries, disposable cameras, ice, beer, water, soda, food — you get the picture.

Locker Rentals

For a fee, lockers are available to stash your stuff in during the festival. With a new location this year (we heard, we implemented!) find lockers inside The Arch, as well as outside The Arch (same as last year).

Info Booths

Post Office

Lost + Found

CLEAN VIBES HELP KEEP THE SCENE CLEAN

There are two main Info Booths on the festival grounds – one inside the Main Venue, and the other next to the Christmas Barn inside Centeroo. Satellite Info Booths are also located at each POD. Info Booths stay open 24 hours, and close at 11 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. Lost + Found is located in the campgrounds at POD 4. If you lose something, or someone, check there first. If it (or they) are not there the first time, check again later. And if you find something that needs to be returned to its owner, make sure to drop it off at POD 4.

Telephones + Service

There is a cell phone tower on the property, but with so many Bonnaroovians texting and sending photos to jealous friends back home, service can be inconsistent. Emergency phones are available at the Info Booth in Centeroo.

ATMs

If you need cash, ATMs can be found in Centeroo, at both General Stores, and at POD 1, 3, 6 and 7. All locations are clearly marked on your festival map.

If you want to buy something from one of the many vendors on site but are unsure how to get it home, this is the stop for you. The Post Office, located in Planet Roo will have boxes, envelopes, packing materials and stamps, as well as special Bonnaroo post cards and the official Bonnaroo Postmark!

With great fun comes great responsibility. Please help Clean Vibes, our heroic trash and recycling crew, by keeping your site and the concert areas clean. Recycle, compost, and pick up after yourself.

What Goes Where

RECYCLING – Place in recycling collection

bins throughout the site and in blue bags at your campsite. All plastic containers, aluminum and tin cans, glass, clean mixed paper, drink cartons, plastic packaging and grocery bags can be recycled this year.

COMPOST – Place all food waste and other compostables in compost collection bins throughout site or in clear bags at your campsite. (Do not contaminate with trash.) All plates, cups, forks and other food service items sold by festival vendors are compostable. CIGARETTE BUTTS – Place in butt bins

LANDFILL – If it can’t be recycled or

When the music stops, please clean up your campsite. (Get extra bags at your POD.) Pick up bottle caps and any other debris. Tie up your bags and leave them at the edge of the road. We’ll take it from there. Collect cans, cups, and bottles or cigarette butts using a bag from the Clean Vibes Trading Post in Planet Roo and trade them in for points to redeem for a variety of great prizes.

Soberoo

Soberoo is a group of passionate, likeminded music fans who choose to remain drug and alcohol free at the festival. The group holds meetings daily at noon, 4 p.m. and midnight (no midnight meeting on Sunday). Look for the yellow balloons and get full details at the Soberoo Tent located across from That Tent in Centeroo.
