September 18 - October 21, 2012 CENTER THEATRE Adapted & Directed by Annie Lareau Hope and longing bridge Henry Lee’s 1940s boyhood in Seattle’s Chinatown and, decades later, his second chance at love after a miraculous discovery in the basement of the Panama Hotel. Historic events and places mesh in this story of quiet devotion.

April 16 - May 12, 2013 CENTER THEATRE Adapted by Jane Jones & Judd Parkin Directed by Jane Jones Huck Finn is an iconic fixture in America’s literary canon, and with Twain’s nuanced depiction of escaped slave Jim as a fully realized human, the novel presented a moral awakening for readers in 1885. Adapted from the original, uncensored text.

Ivan Doig’s Prairie Nocturne and Jim Lynch’s Border Songs were developed through our inaugural workshop. Get your own sneak preview of Book-It’s future with our 2012 Novel Workshop Series. Join us for our fourth annual weekend of works-in-progress readings by veteran and fledgling adaptors alike. You may just witness the birth of the next big thing.

Touring Special Editions Book-It tours original adaptations to schools, libraries, corporate, and community venues. Each performance runs 30-45 minutes.

Family Fun Days Our popular kid-focused family gatherings are a great chance to see the energetic productions that Book-It tours to thousands of young people all over Washington State. This season’s series features more great children’s literature with book-themed craft projects and post-show workshops. All events held in the Center Theatre.
