Is God Incompetent? A Study of Meaning in Natural Calamity, Disaster and Disease

by Geoffrey E L Bennett

About the Book

Is God responsible for natural disasters and diseases? What does human suffering mean in a world where, according to Christian teaching, God is in control? Does God truly exist? Geoffrey E L Bennett’s Is God Incompetent? uncovers deep biblical insights linking them to 21st century cultural and scientific answers. This book is a biographical account of the author’s search for answers and the conclusions drawn from his own experience and years of research. Here, Bennett explores other religious beliefs — Islam, Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, atheist — and then examines the Bible, especially the book of Job and the New Testament.
