As a current Belvidere School Board member and a former Administrator in the district, I have watched the election process very closely. It seems to be the most intense and polarizing race I can remember for school board. Contrary to how they are portrayed by some, all candidates are good people. That does not mean there are not significant differences among them. Some feel the Board should be a thought partner and an advisor to the Administration. Let the professionals do the job unchecked and unquestioned. Some feel the Board is there to provide oversight and checks and balances. From my perspective oversight and checks and balances has saved the district hundreds of thousands of dollars. It has kept the district from implementing programs that many stake holders view as ineffective. I urge you to vote for the ATM group that will provide oversight and accountability. The City will be divided into four sections with Public Works crews picking up branches according to the schedule shown on the map below.
