Frances Louise (Sue) Lafferty, 96 of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully, on April 6, 2023, surrounded by her family. Frances was born on July 13, 1926, to Harvey & Gladys (Smith) Sutton, in Marengo, IL. Frances was a loving, mother, grandmother, & great grandmother. She was an active member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ, a cosmetologist-owner of the Kut N’ Kurl Salon, for over 30 years, Past President of St. John’s Women’s Guild, &
Fidelity Circle. Past President of Belvidere Business & Professional Women’s Club, Charter Member of Belvidere Women of the Moose, Member of VFW & American Legion, & lifetime member of The Belvidere Historical Society. She served 3 years on the Belvidere Planning & Zoning Commission. She loved her family, fishing, cooking, baking, & working at St. John’s Church.
