Maryan Barbara Peters
Maryan Barbara (Bachmann)
Peters was born on April 2, 1936, to William Charles and Regina (Golla) Bachmann and passed away peacefully on July 8, 2023. At the age of 13 her father became ill with ALS and was unable to care for Maryan and her younger sister Marjorie. As a result, they were placed in Angel Guardian Orphanage, Chicago, IL where she lived until she graduated from high school. Upon graduation she attended
Mundelein College. After a whirlwind courtship, she married the love of her life Jerry L. Peters on February 19, 1955. Together they had six children (their 5th child Martin was born on their 6th Wedding Anniversary). As a stay-at-home mother, Maryan was kept busy keeping track of her children and all their shenanigans. As the children grew older, she became active as a volunteer for Cub Scouts, and worked part-time at Poplar Grove Elementary School and Edwards Apple Orchard. She also took pride in serving many years as an election judge. Along with her husband, she loved to go camping and was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers. She is survived by her loving children Larry Peters, Teresa (Scott) Higgins, Denise Gipe, Angela (John) Wanfalt, Martin Peters and Lisa (Steven) Mortensen, her loving grandchildren Brittney Peters, Ashley (Michael) Grace, Jordyn Gipe, Michael Wanfalt, Nathan (Jessica) Wanfalt, Allison (Samuel) Hernandez, Samuel (Samantha) Peters, Paxton Peters, Tanner Mortensen, Parker Mortensen and Mackenna Mortensen, and great grandchildren Lincoln Peters, Samuel Hernandez V and Levi Grace. She also remained close with and held a special place in her heart for Teresa Stumpf and Shirley Peters. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry (April 11, 2005), her parents, her sister Marjorie Bassi, her half-brother Wilbur Bachmann and grandchildren Nicholas Peters and Mackenzie Mortensen. We would like to thank OSF Hospice for their caring love and support and especially her nurse Mikayla for the extra special care she provided. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff of Morning Star Village who looked after mother these past 4 years.
Maryan’s visitation will be Saturday, July 22 at 10am at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. Funeral to follow at 12pm. Burial at Poplar Grove Cemetery.

In Memory of Robert (Bob) Charles Fritz
Robert (Bob) Charles Fritz, 81, died on July 15, 2023 at The Villages Health Center, Villages, Florida. Bob was born August 10, 1941, in Chicago, IL to the late Manila (Nell) Fritz (nee Johnson) and Robert Fritz. Bob led a life filled with its own triumphs & challenges.
He attended Belvidere High School in Belvidere, IL where he graduated in 1959. After high school Bob worked for several years at Ingersoll Rand Corporation in Rockford, IL before moving to Kalamazoo, MI to work for PRAB Industries. Following a stroke at age 48, Bob retired to Florida where he remained until his passing. Bob is survived by his sons, Kelly (Lynn) Sperl, Appleton, WI; Todd (Andrea) Sperl, Huntington Woods, MI; his daughter Missy Fritz, Kalamazoo, MI. Mother of his sons, Bonnie Eickstead, San Antonio, TX. Multiple grandchildren including Ross (Michele) Sperl, Kassi (Ryan) Towne, Kyle (Sarah) Sperl, Allie Sperl, Mac Sperl, and Jake Ohm. Several great-grandchildren, Travis, Bradley and Delilah Sperl; Jack Kelly Towne; and Kyle & Sarah Sperl’s baby girl due November 2023. Other living relatives include his sister, Sandy Fritz (late Ken) Anderson, Belvidere, IL; his brother, Ed (Erin) Fritz, Colfax, CA. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Manila Fritz; his eldest son, Brian Robert Sperl and his brother-in-law Ken J. Anderson. In moving forward, we extend our gratitude to those who have provided Bob support, guidance and understanding over the years, including Bob’s Florida neighbor for many years, Angel Miguel Quintana. Miguel watched over Bob making sure he had what he needed when he needed it. Also, a huge thank you to Delores (Dolly) McCranie, Bob’s Clinical Healthcare Advocate. She helped us navigate Bob’s final years of care. Dolly said she will miss all of Bob’s vim and vigor. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to LovExtension (www.loveextension.com). Renee Elaine Shelton
Renee Elaine Shelton, 49, of Belvidere, IL passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. She was born on January 8, 1974 in Belvidere, IL to Carol Raymond and Ronald Bertram. Renee loved being with friends and family, especially with her two sons who she cared for so deeply. Renee graduated from Belvidere High School, class of 1992.
She eventually went on to beauty school and became a hairdresser. She worked for Fuzion Studios and Bespoke Beauty Bar for 14 years doing what she loved for her clients. Renee had an infectious energy of positivity no matter how dark or gloomy the day was, and could make a room laugh with no issue. Those traits, and many other wonderful things about Renee will be missed by so many.
Renee is loved and will be deeply missed by her sons, Evan Hernandez, Eli Hernandez; parents, Carol and Lee Raymond, Ronald Bertram; brother, Regan (Gail) Gray; nephew, William Gray; niece, Emma Gray; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Belvidere Funeral Home, 203 Logan Avenue, beginning at 1:00 P.M. A visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Memorials can be made to the family in Renee’s name.
Alexander J. (Gene) Revolinski
Alexander J. (Gene) Revolinski, (89) of Poplar Grove, IL. died on Friday, July 14, 2023. Gene was born to John & Charlotte Revolinski in Rockford, IL. on October 28, 1933. He grew up in Belvidere, IL. and served in the Korean War as a young man.
He married the love of his life, Lillian Gilleylen on June 19, 1956 and they raised their four daughters in Belvidere. He was active in his church, Faith Baptist of Belvidere, IL.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lillian; daughters, Debbie (Bob) Kidder of Shell Lake, WI, Diane Revolinski of Caledonia, IL, Darlene Revolinski of Glen Allen, VA, and Dory (Rick) Kidder of Shell Lake, WI; grandchildren, Curt (Julie) Kidder, Chad (Andria Syverson) Kidder, Beryl (Jessica) Lawrence, Stephanie (Chris Seymour) Schneider, Randy (Kelsey) Kidder, Kelly (Paige) Kidder & Rachel Kidder; great-grandchildren, Karli, Alayna, Kelsey & Ella Kidder, Ethan & Scott Lawrence, Adele & Madison Schneider, Raelynn & Easton Kidder; brother, David (Carol) Revolinski of Cherry Valley. Predeceased by his parents, John & Charlotte; and brothers, Stanley & Johnny Revolinski.
The family would like to thank the staff at Amberwood Care Center & ProMedica Hospice for the kindness & care they showed Gene in his final days.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Faith Baptist Church, 1637 7th Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008 with a luncheon to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church of Belvidere Parking Lot Fund.
