Event/Building Coordinator
(part time position)
The Community Building Complex of Boone County is seeking applicants for a long-term, part time Event/Building Coordinator position. The Event/Building Coordinator’s role includes effective management of building rentals and basic building operations to ensure both meet the needs of the patrons and groups who use the building.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating rentals, building and office management, enhancing the overall quality of visitors’ experience, attracting new patrons and leading an additional team of part-time staff. The coordinator should have education, knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas: Event coordination, public relations, building operations, customer service, clerical tasks and marketing. Skill sets of the coordinator should include being service orientated, a multitasker, energetic, friendly, imaginative, well organized and capable of functioning effectively in an independent environment. The position also provides operational and administrative support to the Director.
Work hours are flexible day/hour arrangements with a guaranteed minimum 15 to 20 weekday hours in addition to hours on evenings and weekends to provide onsite support at events. These hours vary based on events scheduled and are also flexible. Starting wage is $22-24 per hour based on experience and qualifications. A benefit package is not included for this position.

Edwina Ann “Edie” Bone
Edwina Ann “Edie” Bone, 86, of Belvidere, IL, passed away in her home on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. Edie was born on September 27, 1937, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Sydney and Edna (Kilsby) Berryman.
Edie married the love of her life, Ed Bone on August 10, 1957, in Palos Park, IL. She graduated from Rock Valley College and Northern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in teaching. She loved teaching and taught for over 20 years in the Rockford School District ending her career at Swan Hillman Elementary School.
After retirement, Ed & Edie traveled to all 50 states and several countries. They loved to go antiquing to furnish their home. Edie also loved to garden, golf, and made the most beautiful handmade cards. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was involved with many clubs, including the Belvidere Women’s Club, the Boone County Extension, the YMCA Y-knots, the Retired Teacher’s Assoc., and Friends of Ida Public Library. Edie loved to decorate her beloved Victorian home for all holidays, but Halloween and Christmas were her favorites. She loved to entertain and show off her beautiful home.
Edie is survived by her husband of almost 67 years, Ed; her children, Larry of Belvidere, Jerry (Denise) of Poplar Grove and Brenda (Jerry) McMillan of Beloit, WI; 7 grandchildren, Chapin Bone, Spencer (Kristin) Bone, Trevor (Toni) Bone, Allison (Curt) Miller, Adam (Megan) Bone, Eric (Dawna) McMillan and Ashley McMillan; 9 great grandchildren with another one due in September; brother, Stanley (Carol) Berryman and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; infant son, David Sydney Bone; brothers, William & Kenneth Berryman; and sister, Gail Wright.
We would like to thank Serenity Hospice Care for the loving care they provided during her last months.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service immediately following, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL. Rev. Jim Bell will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given in her name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
