I would do everything in my power to make this staff run smoother. From the mistakes I’ve madein the past to the things that I now know where help is needed and what is needed to accomplish that. Self-analytical Evaluation Through the past three years of taking journalism and being on staff, I’ve overcome some obstacles, good and bad. Last year as a junior it was my first year being on staff and was very hard to get into the groove of things. I had a very hard time with a deadline and it caused me to break down and stress. Through that experience I learned that taking a deep breathe and planning out what needed to be done first and do everything in order it was have gone over smoothly. I got started in journalism when my friend and I were talking about joining it. We thought it’s something we could do to contribute to making people remember their four years of high school. It was something that caught my eye right away. I knew it was something that I would love and be able to learn things that would help me in the future. This year I decided to apply for business manager and got it. I knew this was a big role and that I could do it if I put my mind to it. I have learned that this takes time more than about 52 minutes per day that it requires effort and time. I wish that I would have pushed myself and gotten stuff done on time and did the job that I know I could of done. Overall I learned many things and was very proud that I got to create a new selling point with the shirts that all the staffers wore. I was a asset to the staff because I was pushing for people to buy our book that all the staffers have worked very hard on. I was able to help people if they needed anything. I know I will be able to take this stuff that I have learned in this class to college by being able to make informative videos, being able to write stories and even being able to put my time and effort into things in the future, because being able to be committed to something and pushing myself to do things is something that I will be able to take with me later on in life.
Reflection 1 Lets just say reference pages aren’t really my good spot. I have been in charge of doing reference pages for the past two years and have learned a lot from it. Within this page was little small errors that I could have caught but wasn’t paying very close attention. I was early to turn in this page which makes me very happy with it in the end. I pushed past my mistakes instead of freaking out about the things I needed to get done. The editors made me aware of the things that I had to fix and were very helpful with me when I asked questions. I’m very pleased with how this page turned out. Knowing my past with the difficulty of these pages it makes me happy that I have finally realized that I can do whatever I set my mind to.

Reflection 3 From being on staff for the past three years I have grown as person all around. I have learned things that I will need when moving on in life. Learning the commitment and the time and effort that is needed to put into things are needed when you need to get things done. I’ve seen some notable differences this year cause now I know how to manage my time more than I could do last year. Since it’s my second year I find it easier to be able to talk to people and ask opinions because you need one more opinion than just your own. With my previous portfolio I kinda just half did it didn’t really put thought into doing it I kinda just wanted to get it done I didn’t really care what it looked like. Overall I feel that this year I put more effort into doing this, I need to learn not to wait last minute on things and to get it done right when work is given to me. Also when doing my reflection two I didn’t think about what I was submitting and how I describe it when I should Have put more effort into doing that. I’m very happy with how I’ve grown in this class and as a person, this class had really taught me a lot and I’m very appreciative of everything.
