Dear Mrs. Nixon, My name is Tyler Rispoli and I have over five years of experience in the multimedia industry. I have worked along side leading professionals but would like to take it to the next level by interning at DNP Studios. The way DNP Studios approaches production is relate able to me and I would love to be a helping hand. Owning my own production company and working on the Legend Yearbook staff of Boone High School, I have gained skills in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects and Audition. In yearbook I have conducted interviews, designed spreads, taken pictures and written content for my spreads. Owning my own company has taught me how to deal with clients and make deadlines. Having previous knowledge in production and human interaction would make me a perfect fit for an intern position because I am able to assist where ever help is needed and bring ideas to the table. I am aware that your company needs someone that is highly qualified and is interested in going into an area of production. After producing over 60 commercial videos and producing a yearbook I am willing to make any sacrifice to bring help to your team. I appreciate you considering me for an interview, speaking to you personally would allow me to talk to you personally about where I can get plugged in. I appreciate you consideration and I look forward to hearing back from you soon. Respectfully yours,

Tyler Rispoli Enclosed: resume

As a young kid I loved the camera. At the age of seven my sister was born and I began to document her life. When I got to middle school I knew I wanted to take Journalism 1. I learned basic AP style web publishing and completed two yearbooks. When entering High School I couldn't take Journalism 1 which put me a little behind in yearbook. At the start of Sophomore year I joined yearbook. I came in not knowing a lot about how the class ran. This set me behind a lot of Sophomores being the only one that didn't take Journalism 1 at Boone. My second deadline this year I was all alone. I was happy to receive help from the staff and learned a lot during the four week deadline. Over the course of this year I have learned how to meet deadlines and work ahead. When given a deadline I always make a outline of what has to be done. This helps me not get too far behind and stay on track each day. Teamwork is another important part of yearbook. During the year five out of my seven deadlines have been with a partner. I have become more of team player this year by not being controlling and splitting work in half to make sure everything is done in a timely manner. When joining yearbook I knew it would take a lot of time and dedication. This year I have fully dedicated my time to yearbook. It was important to make sure I wasn't holding the book back. Towards the end of the year I began to set goals for myself and found that it worked well. It helped me see exactly what I was accomplishing. All of these skills I learned throughout the year will prepare me for the future. I know how to meet deadlines and work collectively with others which will put me further ahead in the multimedia industry. During this year I was able to bring a lot to the table. On staff I used my gift of photography to provide photos for spreads and was able to help anyone when it was needed. I was committed to the publication and worked hard to meet every deadline as soon as possible.

Reflections

Reflection 1

When getting my third deadline I knew it would be challenging. I was lucky to be working with one of my best friends. At the beginning of the deadline we had two secondary coverage ideas but we would have to create them ourselves. After creating two mock ups for the secondary coverage ideas I spent three days designing the page. It was challenging trying to fit all the photos, secondary coverage, body copy and a huge cobbed photo on the page. Splitting the work during this deadline really helped. It allowed us to work at twice the pace. At the end of the deadline we had problems with making the body copy longer being that our dominant cob was shifted right a little. I was really happy with how this spread came out. We were able to make the best use of space within the spread fitting everything we wanted.

Y28. Student Life spread: one spread (56-57)

Reflection 2 This is one of my favorite designs. Two completely new modular elements had to be designed at the start of the deadline. The design allowed for many photos to be placed on the spread.

Y30. Sports spread: one spread (124-125)

Y18. Feature photo (004-005)

This was one of my all time favorite photos of the year. This photo describes the emotional impact the character had with in the production of Evita.

The was my best sports spread out of the two I did. When designing it I wanted to fit as many photos on the page making best use of the space. I liked the secondary coverage and photos used on the spread.
