DNP Studios 407-345-8110 8601 Commodity Circle Orlando, Florida 32819 Dear Mrs. Nixon, My name is Tyler Rispoli and I have over five years of experience in the multimedia industry. I have worked along side leading professionals but would like to take it to the next level by interning at DNP Studios. The way DNP Studios approaches production is relate able to me and I would love to be a helping hand. Owning my own production company and working on the Legend Yearbook staff of Boone High School, I have gained skills in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects and Audition. In yearbook I have conducted interviews, designed spreads, taken pictures and written content for my spreads. Owning my own company has taught me how to deal with clients and make deadlines. Having previous knowledge in production and human interaction would make me a perfect fit for an intern position because I am able to assist where ever help is needed and bring ideas to the table. I am aware that your company needs someone that is highly qualified and is interested in going into an area of production. After producing over 60 commercial videos and producing a yearbook I am willing to make any sacrifice to bring help to your team. I appreciate you considering me for an interview, speaking to you personally would allow me to talk to you personally about where I can get plugged in. I appreciate you consideration and I look forward to hearing back from you soon. Respectfully yours, Tyler Rispoli Enclosed: resume

As a young kid I loved the camera. At the age of seven my sister was born and I began to document her life. When I got to middle school I knew I wanted to take Journalism 1. I learned basic AP style, web publishing and completed two yearbooks. When entering high school I couldn't take Journalism 1 as I already took it in middle school which put me a little behind in yearbook. At the start of Sophomore year I joined yearbook. I came in not knowing a lot about how the class ran. This set me behind a lot of sophomores being the only one that didn't take Journalism 1 at Boone. My fifth deadline this year posed a challenge for my partner Diego Salisbury and I. In the end I learned how to structure deadlines in a more productive way and work ahead. When given a deadline I always make a outline of what needs to be done. This helps me not get too far behind and stay on track each day. Teamwork is another important part of yearbook. This year I was given the opportunity to shoot 13 environmental portraits for theme content. As easy as it sounds it wasn’t. Every shoot I had to find a ride, find people to help me with lighting and gather equipment. On top of all this I had staffers depending on me to get these pictures to them in a timely maner to meet press date. Through this I learned a balance of spread work. The staff must do their part and I have to do my part in a timely manor to meet press date. Throughout this year I consider myself more of a team player. I looked at deadlines as not controlling people but splitting work in half to make sure everything is sufficiently done. When joining yearbook I knew it would take a lot of time and dedication. This year I have fully dedicated my time to yearbook. It was important to make sure I wasn't holding the book back and working hard as an editor. Towards the end of the year I began to set goals for myself and realized how to conform a dealine to be successful. All of these skills I learned throughout the year as an editor and journalist will prepare me for the future. I know how to meet deadlines and work collectively with others which will put me further ahead in the entertainment industry. Prospectively this year I was able to bring a lot to the table. On staff I used my passion of photography and infographic design to provide photos for spreads and design visual content for display through infographics. I was also able to help anyone when it was needed. I was committed to the publication and worked hard to perform my best on every deadline.

Deadline five started off really easy. My partner Diego Salisbury and I had a design done the day got our pictures back from the photo editor, Katie Marshall. We were set for an easy going deadline. Well not so fast, we hit a major speed bump. The original concept of the page was thought to be a spread on students using technology around school. This wasn’t what our adviser Renee Burke had in mind. She envisioned an actual “divide” of the page showing the school from two sides, the digital side and the nondigital side. Diego and I quickly jumped into gear formulating a new page design. This new page design put us really behind on the deadline. I had never designed a page like this before so I went into action seeing what I could produce. After the struggles of the design we placed everything right in. Throughout the deadline I learned a lot about time management within a deadline. Towards the end we scrambled for photos and still had a rocky infographic design. After all the stress we were able to finish only a day late. After proofs the page still needed some work so our Editor-in-chief, Matt Casler and our section editor, Megan Pirino worked on a redesign. In the end our page turned out a lot more fluid and much easier to read.

Heart pounding, muscles aching and exhaustion setting in, Hannah Schneeberger, the only freshman on the team, pushed through the finish line, setting a personal record, 22:22.00, at the FHSAA 4A Region 1 cross country meet on Oct. 31. “I felt nauseous [after running] because I pushed [myself] hard for the team because they were depending on me,” Schneeberger said. “I also felt accomplished because I earned points for the team.” Motivation to set personal records drove the team to log over 300 hours of practice throughout the summer. “[I had to] convince the girls that, in order to get better at running, you have to run a lot over the summer. The summer determines your season [and you have to run] the miles and [do the] training,” coach Darcy Jeffers said. The bond established amongst the team over the summer created accountability for each runner, knowing each had to work her hardest to ensure that the girls achieved personal goals and placed in the top 15 at meets. “Knowing that [the team is] counting on me and I’m counting on them helps me to push past the pain so my teammates know I will push through,” senior Kathryn Truex said. The dedication the runners had to their team motivated them to compete their hardest at the metro conference championship on Oct. 14, in Wedgefield, Fla. The team finished second of nine teams and were the metro conference runner-up to nationally ranked Winter Park. “It felt pretty good [to place second] because Winter Park is one of the best [teams] in the state,” Schneeberger said. At the district championship, held at Bill Frederick State Park, on Oct. 23, the team placed third of 10 teams, allowing them to advance to the regional championship. There, the team placed 12th of 18 teams, concluding their season. “[The biggest reward I get from doing cross country is] accomplishing all that we do,” Truex said. “[You do not] realize how much effort and dedication each girl puts into the sport.
