Zodiac™, at the heart of boating, on all the seas of the globe

Zodiac™ Mark™ II

Inventing a market, developing it around the world, remaining the leader for over 70 years, and being recognized as the most emblematic brand, this is the story of Zodiac™ in the sector of marine crafts and inflatable boats.

It was in 1934 that Pierre Debroutelle designed the prototype of an inflatable two-man kayak and began, without knowing it, what would become a great industrial adventure. Three years later, commissioned by the French navy, he invented a new type of sea craft capable of carrying bombs and torpedoes: the concept was two air chambers assembled in a “U” shape, joined together by a wooden floor platform. The inflatable boat was born! The rise of pleasure boating and water sports in the early 60s gave a huge boost to this type of boat, and since then its future has never been in doubt. The history of the brand is made up of a long series of important stages, but above all its success lies in its unchanging philosophy: respect for the sea and the natural elements, extremely high manufacturing quality standards, an obsession for safety, a permanent desire to innovate, and a global vision of the market.

In 2010, the English magazine ‘Motor Boat’ awarded the Oscar for the best motor boat to our latest invention, the N-ZO™, adding to an already long list of trophies and awards.

Birds of a feather flock together At Zodiac™ we have always considered the spirit of partnership as an attitude that allows us to advance faster and further. We belong to the big family of boating, and appreciate just as much sailing as motor boating, cruising as racing, and pleasure boating as nautical sport.

Zodiac™ n-Zo™

In recent years, Zodiac™ has been keen to associate itself with the most prestigious sailing events by offering boats to ensure the safety of the competitors at the start and finish line of the most famous oceanic races. As partner of the Vendée Globe 2008/2009, Zodiac™ provided the Organizers with sixty Pro Open 650 boats to allow the skippers to navigate in a perfectly safe space of water despite the huge fleet of accompanying boats.

Limited series Pro Open Vendée Globe and Roland Jourdain on Veolia Environnement

Roland Jourdain, at the helm of his Véolia Environnement boat, also chose to team up with Zodiac™, in 2009, sharing the same notion of commitment and high performance standards. In this same spirit, Zodiac™ is also the official supplier in 2010 of the Route du Rhum™ – La Banque Postale and will provide specific boats for the start of the race in Saint-Malo.

Because, by agreeing upon the essential values, we share the same ambitions.

The perfect complement for yachts Fitted with a comprehensive range of equipment, and roomier than their competitors, the Yachtline Deluxe tenders have been designed for optimum passenger seating comfort. Their hull design is specially adapted to the heavier 4 stroke motors providing for faster planing, with minimum bow rise. The performance and handling are outstanding and they are easy to manoeuvre in the most congested waterways. The larger Yachtline models can easily tow a skier, thanks in part to their built in trim flaps, or take you to a diving spot. And, the Yachtlines are great fun to pilot!

Indicated measurements may vary by +/- 3%, or +/- 5% for weight and speed measurements. (1) Maximum permitted load is calculated using ISO standards. Caution is advised when operating fully laden boats. (2) Recommended power is based on optimal use of the boat’s abilities under average load. Depending on use, choose either maximum (waterskiing) or minimum power (fishing, cruising). (3) The manufacturer’s plaque specifies maximum permitted power. The power of your boat must not exceed this under any circumstances. (4) Maximum permitted weight: dry weight, according to motor manufacturers’ catalogue specifications. (5) Maximum speeds are intended as a guide only; they were measured in ideal conditions by professional pilots with one person aboard. They may vary according to make of motor, boat load, propeller type and water conditions. (6) Models in this catalogue are sometimes shown with optional accessories.
