WHEN YOU’RE BUYING OR SELLING PROPERT Y . . . IT HAS TO BE BSPC
BSPC People . . . who’s in-house? Each issue we get to know a BSPC professional from one of BSPC’s member firms and this week we are speaking to - Margery Macdonald from Edingtons W.S. Tell us about your role within Edingtons W.S.? My role in Edingtons is Law Accountant, Property Manager, Receptionist and General Dogsbody. We are a small office of 3 so we all muck in to get the work done.
How long have you worked with the firm? I have worked here for nearly 12 years.
What keeps you busy when you’re not at the office? When I’m not working I like socialising, gardening and walking with my gorgeous greyhound Katy.
Where’s your favourite place in the Borders? The River Tweed at Dryburgh – loads of wildlife, whats not to love.
What do you enjoy most about your job? My job as you can see from above is very varied and busy but I really enjoy it. We have some lovely clients old and new which help keep it enjoyable.
Tell us about your home or dream home? The cottage where I live outside St Boswells is as good as it gets! Lovely situation, magnificent views and great neighbours.
What would be your ideal holiday? Driving Route 66 in America on a motor trike. This is top of my bucket list. I also love walking in the Scottish Borders, North Northumberland and the West of Scotland (but hate the midgies!)
What’s your greatest achievement? My greatest achievement is being a good single mum to my 2 lovely daughters (I hope they would agree!)
Name two things you can’t live without? My car and my walking boots.
What’s your favourite Borders eatery? Any Indian restaurant. I love Indian food.
Who is your favourite author/ artist or designer? The scots authors – Ian Rankin, Stuart McBride and Quinten Jardine. I also love the Scottish artist Joan Eardley too.
What’s playing in your car right now? Radio 2 and in the CD player – Rumours by Fleetwood Mac – the best album and band in the world.
What natural talent would you like to have? I wish I could sing but I sound like a strangled cat if I try.
