BSPC People . . .who’s in-house? Each issue we get to know a BSPC professional from one of BSPC’s member firms and this week we are speaking to - Susan Edington from Edington & Co Tell us about your role within Edington and Co ?

What keeps you busy when you’re not at the office?

Solicitor.

My family, my dog and cat, cooking, theatre, music and a fair bit of reading too.

How long have you worked with the firm? 18 years. Opened my own firm in 1977. Previously worked for Thorburn and Lyon in Galashiels.

Where’s your favourite place in the Borders? Fatlips Castle.

What do you enjoy most about your job? Meeting various people from all walks of life and building up relationships with my clients. The variety of work also keeps me entertained.

Tell us about your home or dream home? I have just moved to a Victorian property with an ancient glasshouse and half an acre of garden and feel I may have just found my dream home.

What would be your ideal holiday? Anywhere snorkelling.

What’s your greatest achievement? Setting up a legal office single handedly.

Name two things you can’t live without? Not things-people. Margery and Ruth my co -workers here at Edingtons WS and my family.

What’s your favourite Borders eatery? I’ve just discovered Paolos Italian restaurant in Galashiels and have just eaten the best pasta I’ve had in a very long time. Freshly made and delicious.

Who is your favourite author/ artist or designer? Author-Graham Greene. The book I go back to most often is Travels with my Aunt. Artist-Anne Redpath: go and see her work in Hawick and Edinburgh.

What’s playing in your car right now? Hozier.

What natural talent would you like to have? I would like to be able to draw.
