Setup Guide for SQ Remote on your iOS device Important: Follow the Quick Start Guide for the SQ Blaster and download SQ Remote to your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.

Verify that SQ Remote finds and connects to your SQ Blaster unit.

Setup Details

Step 3 - Add control pads Go to Setup > Control Pads

Step 1 - Verify that SQ Remote detects your SQ Blaster

Tap the “Edit” button in the top right hand corner of the Control Pads screen.

With your iOS device connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your SQ Blaster: Go to Setup > SQ Blasters and Devices • Tap on the setup image to enter the setup area of the application. (If this is the first time you have started SQ Remote - select “No Thanks” to the startup message.)

Tap the “+” button in the top right hand corner of the Edit Control Pads screen.

Checking your buttons are correctly assigned to commands

• Enter a title and select an image for the control pad.

Sometimes when you link a preset control panel to your device code sets some of the buttons my not be linked correctly.

• Tap the “Save” button to save the control pad.

Repeat this process to add control pads for your activities such as Watching Movies, Watching TV, or Listening to Music.

• Select “SQ Blasters and Devices”

Return to the setup area by tapping the “Back” button twice and then tap “Close” to exit to the carousel.

• You should see your blaster unit with the word “Connected” after it.

If your blaster is not connected or is not listed go to the help area of SQ Remote or the support pages at www.squareconnect.com for additional help.

Step 4 - Add controls to your control pads and link them to commands

Step 2 - Add command sets (Devices) to your SQ Blaster

Bring the control pad that you want to edit to the front of the carousel. You can do this by tapping on its image, or by swiping left or right across the screen to rotate the carousel.

Go to Setup > SQ Blasters and Devices > Add New Device to Blaster

• Tap on the front control pad to open it.

• Tap the “Edit” button to enter “Edit Mode”

For each device that you want to control with the blaster:

• Tap the green “+” button to add controls • Select Preset Control Panels in the picker (these are templates that let you add multiple buttons at once), then tap the button “Preset Control Panel”.

• Select the brand of equipment e.g. “Samsung”.

• Select the type of equipment e.g. “TV” • Select the infrared code set that works best for your equipment.

Tips for selecting the correct infrared code set: Place the blaster in a position where it is facing the equipment that you want to control. You can then test the commands during step 3 above.

Repeat this process to add all code sets for all your devices.

Repeat the steps above for the side panels in your control pad until you have added all the controls that you need, then exit the “Edit Mode” by tapping the “Back” button.

You can easily check your buttons to see if they are “linked” and correct them if necessary.

• In your control pad, tap the “Edit” button to enter “Edit Mode” • Tap the

button.

• Buttons that display a green to a command.

• Buttons that have a grey

symbol are assigned

• To assign a button to an infrared command, select a button - its symbol will turn red: • Then tap the “Assign” button. You will then be able to select any command from any of the devices that you added in Step 2. Simply select the device you want to control, then on the next screen select the command. You can test the commands directly to make sure that you are getting the right one before selecting it.

Exit the “Edit Mode” by tapping the “Back” button.

• Select the type of controls that you want to add in the picker, then tap the button “Next: Link Devices” Your choice of preset control panel will depend on the device(s) that you want to control and the type of activity. You can always edit and customize your controls later.

• For each type of control that is present in the control panel that you selected, you now choose the device that should be controlled from the list of devices that you added in Step 2.
