TRAVELING WITH FRIENDS YOU’VE JUST MET! We love to remind our members of the many benefits of traveling with The Club—members-only personal service, affordability, solo-friendly itineraries and, on our international trips, tour managers so good that our travelers never fail to single them out for lavish praise! But, on that long list of benefits, there’s one our members mention all the time. It’s meeting and making new friends! This month I had the pleasure of traveling with a great group of members on our annual “Presidents Trip.” Traveling with me were people largely from New England (making for many happy and unexpected connections!) who really enjoyed the conviviality of the group! Of course, like all of our members, they also enjoyed the personal service and low cost, but in the end, people make the trip memorable and I knew that we had all made some wonderful new friends. So, if you haven’t traveled with us yet, don’t wait! Give us a call and talk to a real live person. We’ll help you plan a trip that’s affordable, stress-free and one of the best travel experiences of your life! WE HAVE YOUR TICKETS Boston theaters will be lit like a Broadway billboard this season! Turn the page, pick some shows and call us. Show of the Month Club has your tickets! Tim Montgomery President

Today, The Travel Club is a full-service, private travel agency where your travel advisor knows you and is easily available on the phone! TRAVELER REVIEWS Classic Tuscany April 2018 The tour was everything I thought it would be and turned out to be better than I thought. The hotel was nice. The staff was helpful and extremely friendly. The food was delicious every night and we always had variety. Raffela is the perfect tour director. She's knowledgeable, kind and always there for us to help with whatever we need. This is my second tour with her and I love being part of the family. Local guides were great too. Overall the process to book my trip was seamless thanks to Kim and Barbara. The other travelers were so nice. I was solo but felt included with everyone. Can't wait to book my next trip with SOMC! —Kim O. The Amalfi Coast May 2018 I am a repeat traveler (5 trips) with Travel Club. The value is outstanding. Accommodations are well beyond what I would expect for the price. Guides are the best, knowledgeable and attentive to any need. They manage to cover the chosen area very well and provide a wealth of information. Always feel safe and comfortable. My fellow travelers have been interesting and making friends has added fun to each tour group encountered. Definitely the "go-to" travel agent for me. —Gerri K. The Amalfi Coast May 2018 Easiest, most fulfilling, affordable, great group of fellow travelers, Travel Club is the only way to go. This was our first trip to Europe and it won't be the last. Many thanks to everyone involved!!!! —Michele C. The Italian Lakes May 2018 I particularly liked your flexibility. We flew over a day early so we could be rested and The Travel Club nicely accommodated this request. I also chose to go hiking and biking instead of on the bus tour and our travel leader was very accommodating. —John V. The Amalfi Coast Do whatever it takes to make sure Allessandra (Tour Manager) stays with The Travel Club! She was with us from the moment we arrived in Naples until we left. A couple of people in our group got sick on the bus and she handled the situation with great compassion. We especially liked going to the winery for lunch after the Pompeii visit and to the farm in Sorrento...places we wouldn't have found on our own. Also, the boat trip to Positano was wonderful. —Vicki H. Sicily's Resorts May 2018 Valentina was an excellent guide. She was probably the best tour manager I have had. She was personable and helpful. The hotels were very nice, comfortable and conveniently located. The planned excursions, boat trips, wineries, and olive farm were beautiful. —Karen C The Amalfi Coast April 2018 This trip was amazing! This was the first time I had ever been to Europe and it far exceeded my expectations. The country is so beautiful, the food delicious and I can't even begin to tell you how amazing our guide Alessandra was. She really made this an exceptional experience. I would do this exact same trip again in a heartbeat. Thank you. —Jill N.

A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS LIVE ON STAGE Playing: November 29–December 2, 2018 Order by: October 29, 2018 This touring production of A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage by Charles M. Schulz features everyone’s favorite Peanuts gang—Linus, Lucy, Snoopy, Sally, and more, all led by the lovable Charlie Brown—as they discover the true meaning of Christmas. When Charlie Brown becomes discouraged by the materialism of the season, Lucy convinces him to direct the neighborhood Christmas play. A Charlie Brown Christmas Live on Stage, Schulz’s timeless story of the spirit of Christmas, showcases the unforgettable music of Vince Guaraldi, performed by a three-piece ensemble on stage, as well as a concert of beloved holiday carols led by the Peanuts characters. Based on the popular Peanuts comic strip, the Emmy® and Peabody Award-winning television special by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson became a holiday viewing tradition after it first aired in 1965. It was adapted for the stage by Eric Schaeffer, by special arrangement with Arthur Whitelaw and Ruby Persson.”

“PARIS IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA.” — AUDREY HEPBURN. Hundreds of Club members have traveled to Paris with us over the years and this Travel Club classic remains one of the best values in travel today! We'll stay in a quiet street of the 16th arrondissement, in the heart of Paris, at the four-star Hotel Victor Hugo Paris Kleber, in strolling distance to the Place du Trocadero, the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysees, and the Arc de Triomphe. Often compared to NYC's Upper East Side, the posh 16th is elegant residential neighborhoods with pretty art-deco architecture, world-class museums and fine restaurants. Located on the right bank between Boulogne-Billancourt and the Arc de Triomphe, the 16th includes the vast wooded area of Bois de Boulogne and we'll enjoy the wide tree-lined boulevards, neighborhood bistros, elegant gardens and vintage boutiques of this area. Note: While the Eiffel Tower is located in the 7th arrondissement, the 16th lays claim to some of the most impressive views of it. The best outlook is from Jardins du Trocadéro—it offers some of the best views of this famous landmark as well as striking panoramas of the city—for some of the best head to the terrace bar at Hotel Raphael.

A highlight of our week will be a hands-on cooking class with Chef Massimo Tomarchio that begins with a guided visit to the local market! Enjoy an excursion to Catania, a port city nestled in the foothills of grumbling, old Mount Etna, for a visit to its bustling street market, followed by a winery visit and lunch at an estate on the slopes of the volcano!...and Siracusa, to visit the spectacular archaeological site and beautiful Ortigia Island. Our relaxing week winds down with a free day to explore on our own.

THE ANCIENTS WERE RIGHT! ROME IS THE ETERNAL CITY and its 3,000-year heritage is evident on every street of this historic and cultural masterpiece where modern life blends with the antiquities of a lost empire. By member request, we've chosen accommodations at the Hotel Medici (an elegant 19th-century building)—just a short walk from Rome's Villa Borghese Park and Porta Pia, an area full of local restaurants. While our independent programs are designed for you to experience Rome on your own, we have a few suggestions! Don't miss the Borghese Museum—the art, the gardens and the building are extravagantly beautiful. Head to the Campo dei Fiori outdoor market at Piazza Navona— buy your wine, bread, cheese and enjoy a picnic as you people watch. We've included "jump-the-line" tickets for the Vatican Museum. (Tip: mail your postcards from inside Vatican City for the unique stamps and postmark.) The weather in November is perfect for sightseeing and you're likely to encounter more Romans than tourists! The Old City—parts of which date from the 11th century—is mostly intact and we'll find an 800-year-old Gothic church and Europe's oldest pharmacy.
