TRAVELING WITH FRIENDS YOU’VE JUST MET! We love to remind our members of the many benefits of traveling with The Travel Club—benefits like our members-only personal service, affordability, solo-friendly itineraries and tour managers so good that our travelers never fail to single them out for lavish praise! Yet, there’s one benefit that our members mention all the time. It’s meeting new friends who also live in our region! A few months ago, I had the pleasure of traveling with a great group of members on our annual “Presidents Trip.” Traveling with me were people largely from New England (making for many unexpected connections!) who really enjoyed the conviviality of the group. Of course, they also enjoyed all those benefits I mentioned, but in the end, people make a trip memorable and I knew that each one of us had made some wonderful new friends. So, if you haven’t traveled with us, don’t wait! Why not see for yourself what makes a Travel Club trip so special. In fact, join me on this year’s President’s Trip! I’ll be hosting a very special week in Cuba this November. Give us a call and talk to a real live person. Whether it’s Cuba or anywhere else in the world, we’ll help you plan a trip that’s affordable, stress-free and one of the best travel experiences of your life! WE HAVE YOUR TICKETS Boston theatres will be lit like a Broadway billboard this season! Turn the page, pick some shows and call us. Show of the Month Club has your tickets! Tim Montgomery President

ABOUT SHOW OF THE MONTH CLUB Where the worlds of Theater and Travel Come Together in ONE GREAT CLUB! Show of the Month Club was founded in 1956 and is the only theater and travel membership club in the country. Over the past 60 years the Club has offered its members top-price theater tickets for thousands of shows, at a discount. Today, Show of the Month Club continues to provide its members with a convenient, simple and economical way to order theater tickets for the best shows coming to greater Boston. Back in the mid-1960s, the Club began offering a small selection of domestic and international travel packages. They became so popular that we created The Travel Club, now included in Show of the Month Club membership, featuring carefully planned yet affordable trips to over 100 destinations every year! Today, The Travel Club is a full-service, private travel agency where your travel advisor knows you and is easily available on the phone! Here are just a few good reasons why our travelers wouldn’t travel with anyone else: • Our groups are small—usually around 18 to 24 travelers. • All departures are from Boston’s Logan International Airport on regularly scheduled, major airlines. • Traveling solo? The Club offers some of the lowest single supplements in the industry. • And our trips are legendary for value. Our motto is Spend Less, Travel More!

There’s a built-in bond that made blending and bonding particularly easy and fun! The Tour Manager being local is also key. I was superdelighted that we had Sonia as our tour Manager. —Elaine D.

Just came back from the Amalfi Coast tour & it's the best trip we've been on. The hotel in Maiori was very comfortable. The tour guide, Alessandra, was the best! She went above and beyond to help in any way and strived to make this trip the best. She even planned extra activities. We had a great group of people on our tour. I would recommend this tour for everyone! —Deb R., April 2018

THIS IS THE TRIP OUR MEMBERS CALL THE BEST VALUE in travel today! In a country with over 7,000 km of coastline, the Amalfi Coast is often considered the “coast with the most.” This 50 km long stretch of paradise entrances visitors with stunning scenery, panoramic vistas, sun-washed, hill-hugging villages and, of course, its unmatched Italian style and culture. The Amalfi Coast is beautiful, romantic and dramatic and the Club has become justly famous for our tour of the best of the best. Home-base is a charming hotel in Maiori with its long, wide beach. From there we’ll set out on a new adventure each day—a guided tour of the excavations at Pompeii followed by a winery visit; a full-day visit to the magical and glamorous isle of Capri; an excursion to Sorrento where we'll have a pizza-making lesson followed by lunch and a limoncello tasting, an exploration of Amalfi and Ravello with lunch. The next day we'll travel by motorboat to the village that seems to tumble into the blue sea—Positano—where we'll enjoy lunch and have the whole day to explore on our own.

TRAVELER REVIEW “We thank you for giving us a wonderful experience on the Amalfi Coast and Rome. We met new friends, enjoyed amazing scenery, sights and history. Great value for our money. We will continue to view your website to help in planning our next getaway! Oh... and the food and wine were wonderful.” —Susan C.

“PARIS IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA.” — AUDREY HEPBURN. Hundreds of Club members have traveled to Paris with us over the years and this Travel Club classic remains one of the best values in travel today! We'll stay in a quiet street of the 16th arrondissement, in the heart of Paris, at the four-star Hotel Victor Hugo Paris Kleber, in strolling distance to the Place du Trocadero, the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysees, and the Arc de Triomphe. Often compared to NYC's Upper East Side, the posh 16th is elegant residential neighborhoods with pretty art-deco architecture, world-class museums and fine restaurants. Located on the right bank between Boulogne-Billancourt and the Arc de Triomphe, the 16th includes the vast wooded area of Bois de Boulogne and we'll enjoy the wide tree-lined boulevards, neighborhood bistros, elegant gardens and vintage boutiques of this area. Note: While the Eiffel Tower is located in the 7th arrondissement, the 16th lays claim to some of the most impressive views of it. The best outlook is from Jardins du Trocadéro—it offers some of the best views of this famous landmark as well as striking panoramas of the city—for some of the best head to the terrace bar at Hotel Raphael.

DUBROVNIK—THE PEARL OF THE ADRIATIC is “a living fairy tale that shouldn't be missed.”  —Rick Steves

Montenegro

Dubrovnik—located on Croatia's Riviera along the Adriatic Sea, is one of the world's most beautiful fortified cities. Add in a warm southern climate, endless blue skies and the crystal-clear sea and Dubrovnik is captivating. We've included full-day tours to Montenegro—with visits to Kotor and Perast, and the island of Korcula—with its vineyards, olive groves and small villages.

Join us in “the real Italy” as we reveal the art, culture, tradition and cuisine of Puglia. From our home-base in Martina Franca—whose old quarter is a picturesque maze of winding alleys, blindingly white houses and blood-red geraniums, airy piazzas and curlicue ironwork balconies—we’ll start with a to visit Locorotondo, one of Puglia’s prettiest towns. Elegant Lecce is an “open air exhibition” of Baroque architecture where we’ll enjoy a cooking lesson in an old Palazzo. We’ve included lunch in a fishing village near Bari, a visit to seaside Polignano a Mare, an excursion to Matera—famous for its extensive rock dwellings—where we’ll have lunch in a “cave” restaurant. Our last tour days include the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Trulli of Alberobello—the world-famous picturesque cone-shaped houses—lunch at a country agriturismo and a winery visit. FINCA LA VIGÍA—ERNEST HEMINGWAY'S HOME IN CUBA It’s no secret to anyone that Hemingway passionately loved Cuba. So much so, that he lived there for more than 30 years and owned a permanent residence ten miles east of Havana, Hemingway's Cuba house, Finca Vigía, meaning "lookout house". Finca Vigía is located in the small, workingclass town of San Francisco de Paula. Built in 1886 by a Spanish Architect Miguel Pascual y Baguer, Finca Vigía was purchased by Hemingway in 1940 for a cost of $12,500. There, Hemingway wrote two of his most celebrated novels: For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Old Man and the Sea. A Movable Feast was written there as well. After years of neglect, restoration and preservation work has begun. Finca Vigía has made both the World Monuments Fund list of 100 Most Endangered sites, and The National Trust for Historic Preservation’s 11 Most Endangered Places.
