Opened in 1927, Boston’s largest independent hotel and the city’s premiere meeting and event venue was lovingly restored following a more than $100 million renovation.

Throughout the hotel’s history, Boston Park Plaza has been the city’s premier gathering place. Hosting dignitaries from Winston Churchill, JFK and FDR and Hollywood royalty such as Katharine Hepburn and Judy Garland. The hotel was the first in the city to provide guestrooms with built-in closets, private bathrooms and reading lamps over the bed.

Opened as a “city within a city”, the hotel included New England’s largest barber shop, a radio broadcast studio for WBZ, an entire floor for staff housing and dining and a hospital complete with an operating room and a Nose and Throat Department. On the roof was a penthouse with two floors for service functions, including a print shop for the production of menus and incidental house literature, a carpenter shop and an upholstery shop.

MEZZANINE LEVEL

The Mezzanine Level features most of the hotel’s larger meeting spaces including the iconic Grand Ballroom, as well as generous pre-function areas overlooking the beautiful lobby.

Located off the lobby level, Avenue 34 and The Square offer a unique city vibe, with art Deco inspired design, exposed beams and ductwork, and modern touches that create an industrial chic space to perfectly complement the hotel’s more traditional event space. Both locations offer a flexible floor plan, ideal for corporate events, meetings and wedding celebrations.

CONFERENCE LEVEL

The Fourth Floor offers twenty smaller meeting rooms, all with natural light, that are perfect for breakouts, seminars and training sessions. These rooms offer a convenient centralized location that is easy to reach from the larger rooms on the Mezzanine Level.

Upon opening in 1927, rooms at The Statler Hotel were priced between $3.50 and $5.00. By the time construction of the hotel was completed, craftsmen had used 5 million bricks, 2 acres of glass, 10 acres of carpeting, 7,000 doors, 200 miles of molding, and 16 million pounds of steel. The project cost Statler $14 million dollars.

• Elimination of Single Use Plastics: Including guest water bottle refill stations, compostable coffee pods and condiment kits, bulk bath amenities, and more.

• Guest Room and Meeting Room Energy Management System: Our stateof-the-art energy management system detects when a guest room or public meeting room is vacant and turns off heating and air conditioning. The system also detects when an occupied room is vacant and adjusts the temperature.

• Food and Beverage: We compost biodegradable organic food waste, recycle all kitchen oils, and use bulk dispensers and reusable containers for beverages, food and condiments.

• Single Stream Recycling

• Water Conservation: including hotel linen and towel reuse.
