An incredibly good bull and one of the family favourites. He has shown admirable qualities since birth with his excellent body type, a big rear quarter, is wide topped, loose hided, has great colour and a ton of hair. Windfall is another great son out of our $43,000 homo polled Paparazzi herdsire that has consistently sired a great set of calves for us over the last three years. We are very pleased with both sons and daughters from the Vegas sire. Daughters are stylish and his sons are stout with wide tops on moderate sound structures and have good performance. Pictured on November 15th, you can certainly see the potential this impressive LFE Vegas son displays. An excellent larger framed bull chalked full of meat and muscle and packed full of those early maturing power genetics that all these Nascar sons exhibit. Here is another son of the homo polled, hetero black Crossroad Black Sox we sold in our 2015 bull sale. Black Sox is a son of Crossroad Nascar, sire of lots 8,9,10 and 11, so you can see where all the powerful presence comes from in these bulls’ bloodlines. This Red Sox bull is very good. We purchased a semen package from Erixon Simmentals on their newly purchased homo polled, hetero black $60,000 MRL Pretty Reckless herd bull, and we are sure pleased with his calves. Erixon’s recently sold a Reckless heifer calf at the prestigious Friday Night Lights sale going to Australia for $40,000. This is the first set of Reckless calves and we have two Red and two Black bulls on offer this year. Masterplan was mothered by our 12 year old elite Rosemary cow, she has raised eleven January born calves with a Westcott baby due again for January. Can’t argue with that fertility! Her udder is good and she shows no signs of slowing down, she belongs to one of our very best producing cow families. Her last year’s good bull was purchased by Nelson Family Ranches at Stirling, Ab. A young mid- February born bull with a thick hair coat and enough performance to satisfy most, was 1000 pounds on September 10th. Black Baron is a transplant calf with many qualities that we really admire. Excellent body type with thickness throughout, super thick hair coat, great disposition and out of a really good cow. We purchased Lotto embryos out of the elite Linette cow at the Blacksand dispersal and are certainly pleased with this result. Spartacus… raised by our good friend Philippe Bellavance at Ferme Sibelle from Quebec and co-owned with our good friends at Little Willow Creek. A very stylish full fleck Spartacus son, again with that natural muscling. The dam to these three flushmate’s is a good uddered fancy Radium cow. Doug Marjoram and Darryl Roach purchased a super wide topped son of hers at the 2015 bull sale for $15,000, and her natural calf sired by Bolero sells as lot 57. Our granddaughter Olivia named this one Simba, thank goodness for grandkids and their input on the calf names! Another great transplant brother to the lots 49 and 50. This one had an exceptional recipient mother that I think gave him a little extra in the milk department and it sure shows. Senator is a really good loose hided bull with a lot of middle and big butt. He has small goggles and great colour, he does have a small white splash on his shoulder that does not show up in this picture. He has excellent performance and will sire early maturing, money making calves.

I am not tickled with this bull’s picture, I think maybe the “Master” (Gerald) is at fault for not getting the bull’s head up and his legs positioned better. He won’t agree with that, but that’s my story! We do agree that we really like this young Feb. born bull. He is the right size, full of thickness with good bone and good size feet under him. Barry Labatte has purchased two daughters from his dam, and unfortunately the ten year old Thumbelina took a tumble on the ice in the spring and injured her hip. She fed her calf well all summer, but had to be retired this fall. South Peace Colony from Dawson Creek, BC purchased the last good bull she raised and this Billions bull is one that you really need to see on sale day.

We purchased some semen from Black Gold Simmentals on the high priced stylish Starwest Bryck bull they had acquired, and we are pleased with the results. One goggle on this long spined Starwest Bryck son, who also has good performance. He was mothered by an extremely productive cow. Two of her daughters are working in the herd, one of them is the dam to Crossroad Subaru that sold for $37,000 at last year’s bull sale to Canadian Sires, Mark Land & Cattle and Spring Lake Simmentals. Riverbend, Crystal Springs and Holt Colonies all have sons from Conversion’s dam. Keep as many of the Conversion females you can, you will be happy you did.

We purchased the Little Willow Creek Hemi herdsire a few years ago at the Source sale. He has really matured into an impressive herdsire and we are sure pleased with his calves. Lancaster’s dam is a 14P Evan/ Metro combo that makes this bull very strong maternally. We have two good daughters working in the herd with other progeny purchased by JMR Farms at Goodsoil, Dry Creek Simmentals at Loon Lake and KSL Simmentals at Beaver Lodge. This is the first set of calves from our impressive, well balanced, great coloured $40,000 Philosophy herdsire and we do have some good ones. Partner’s dark cherry red Chesapeake dam was a $29,000 high seller at the 2015 Friday Night Lights sale and is co-owned with our friends at Groupe BBBG in Quebec. She is flushing well and we are all looking forward to her production in 2018. Being an October born dam, Partner is her first calf and she raised him well. This one really catches your eye every time you walk into the pen. Big ribbed with tons of shape, perfect size, quiet, she is going to grow into a super stylish female. TERMS – The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made prior to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Crossroad Farms reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should the purchaser fail to settle for his purchase Crossroad Farms reserve full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Crossroad Farms and sales staff has the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment and who has not made prior credit arrangements, prior to the sale with Crossroad Farms. BID-Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No by bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. DISPUTES- In case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final. PURCHASER’S RISK- Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. ANNOUNCEMENTS from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY- The proper Registration or Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after the settlement has been made. SHIPPING- Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but
no risk is assumed by the Seller. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement. GUARANTEE- All animals will carry standard breeding guarantee as specified by the Canadian Simmental Association. At no time shall the seller’s liability exceed the purchased price of the animal. EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE – In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. In the cases of bulls, they are guaranteed to breed naturally according to the Canadian Simmental Association Guarantee but no guarantee is given that semen from any bull will freeze. HEALTH – All animals will have passed the required tests as determined by Agriculture Canada at sale location. It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. ACCIDENTS- Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither Crossroad Farms or any Sales Staff or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS – The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
