Welcome to our 14th Annual Bull Sale. Another year has quickly blown by. First off, we would like to take the time to thank customers, friends, and everyone who has taken time to show interest in our program, thank you. Without the support of fellow cattlemen, friends and family there is no us. This year we were fortunate to have an extra set of hands. Riley graduated from Kansas State University last May and has now returned home to the full-time operation. On the other hand, Cody is attending Kansas State University in his third year where he is studying animal science and is a member of the livestock judging team. He just recently was named the high individual at the Iowa Beef Expo, congratulations to his team’s accomplishments. We are very passionate about what we do around here as a family and especially as the next generation gears up to take more responsibilities in the day to day activities around the farm preparing for the sale. There isn’t a day that goes by that cows aren’t on the topic and how we can better our product for you. Our direction and mission has never changed, it’s pretty simple. We strive to raise cattle that are geared for the Commercial cow man, yet have the eye appeal and presence to put a show halter and be competitive when they go to town. The same cattle that have been success in the show ring, are also the same cattle that are the back bone of our breeding program. NEVER ONCE ALONG THE WAY IN THE SHOWRING HAVE WE LOST SIGHT OF FUNCTIONALITY AND REAL WORLD CHARACTERISTICS THAT APPLY IN THE BEEF INDUSTRY. We take great pride in the fact that cattle we show are the same cattle that pay the bills and cut it in the real world. We raise cattle that are functional and convenient, not extreme in any one way. Cows that graze on native grass until December brought home and put on alfalfa grass hay and water out of the river. Exercise consumes a large portion of their day which enhances the longevity of our cow herd. Moderate framed, big middle, sound structured cows that have the ability to consume and do what they are supposed to do calve, re-breed, look after themselves with minimal resources and raise a big calf that will put the extra dollar in your pocket. We’ve never sold females because we have felt you need to keep your best in order to build cow families and establish a program. We take great pride in knowing the fact our udders and feet are as good as any cow herd in the country. This cow herd has been built for 40 years with real world characteristics at the top of the priority list. In saying this, this group of bulls has had us excited since day one. Back through the summer in weaning, we were confident that this was the highest caliber group we have ever assembled. This year we bring to you the first set of Alliance sons. There has been very few purebred bulls that sire the power and style accompanied with the feet and leg structure like Alliance sired. It is a real pleasure to watch these bulls move so fluid and athletic. Other sire groups will include the Agribition Champion - Wheatland Royal Flush, Wheatland Kill Switch, Wheatland Final Affair, Wheatland Bull 298Z and WC Bullseye. Our Angus project is also growing and we have more selection than ever. They will be highlighted by S A V Cutting Edge sons; the Cutting-Edge progeny is limited and these will be some of the only sons to sell in Canada. We have grown our bull numbers just a smidge and we will be hosting purebred Simmental and Angus along with an extremely high quality of ¾ blood and ½ blood bulls along with a strong offering of Commercial heifers. The bulls are developed in large paddocks where exercise is a big part of their day. Eating hay out of a bale feeder and hand fed grain you won’t find the 1700 pound yearling bull because it is not what we are after and it’s sure not economical to the commercial cowman that needs to insure longevity and soundness. You will notice through our catalogue pretty much all of the mother cows carry our prefix and this just enhances the breeding value they can have in your operation. I know you will read the sale report and the average may seem kind of high but we sell some awfully good bulls from 4,000 - 7,500 making them affordable for everyone. As doing our job as seed stock producers we do sell some higher dollar bulls which creates a higher average but I can assure you that there will be something for everyone in all price ranges. This group of herd sires is the result of strict breeding protocols for more than 40 years. We pay strong attention to maternal traits, udder quality, feet, fertility and fleshing ability in the Wheatland cow herd for generations paralleled with stringent demands on performance and use of proven sires have yielded a disciplined cowherd and operation for a consistent, reliable product for years to come. Seedstock from Wheatland have enjoyed much success in breeding programs across the country, AI studs, and cow shows across the nation but most importantly they have worked well for the commercial cowman who provides the best testing ground for any program. The bulls for 2018 are without a doubt the most uniform, high quality, genetic power houses you will find up and down the road. There will also be some fresh new genetics that are intriguing to everyone. This group has been developed with you in mind after all its you who makes it happen. On March 22, 2018 the opportunity to select from one of the top seedstock producing operations will present itself. We at T Bar C are confident that this year’s offering of Wheatland genetics is their most uniform and highest quality to date. Striving towards genetic improvement and beef breed enhancement can be both motivating and extremely challenging. The greatest reward at the end of the day is to see the product you produce being used throughout the seedstock business and making a difference. The Wheatland prefix will rival any prefix for developing and producing bulls that have stood the test and moved the beef industry forward. These breed enhancers and breed changers are no fluke , they stem from a foundation built off a no non-sense approach, addressing the basics of a moderate framed, deep bodied, good uddered, sound and phenotypically correct female. Rest assured that each bull in the offering is backed by a mother that fits that description and has been stacked in multiple throughout the pedigree. As you flip through the sale offering, I am sure you will appreciate the efforts and results of such a breeding program that is built on this type of foundation.

The excitement of this year’s Simmental group will be led off by the CCLT Alliance 91C progeny. The anticipation of this sire’s offering has already created a major stir, as one of his first sons gathered $80,000.00 U.S for a 1/3 semen interest. These first sons are built right from the ground up with tons of shape, dimension and look. This sire group will be among the best to sell this spring. As you study the Simmental offering, you will notice bulls that range from calving ease to power bulls with big time performance, but the steady factor of structural soundness, well built bulls that can get out and move and have been bred and developed to last, will be constant. The Sim/Angus portion will consist of all the same factors as above; proven cow families stacked within the pedigree and mated by that magical Wheatland formula. These herd bulls will stop you dead in your tracks. They possess the best of Simmental and Angus breed wrapped into one. You will be able to choose from 1/2, 3/4 to 7/8 Simmental bulls in this portion of the offering. Some of these future herd sires are among the best in the offering, so don’t sell them short. The Angus section is the deepest set produced to date. This year’s offering will feature some of the only sons to sell in Canada by the ever popular S A V Cutting Edge. This group of flush brothers will rival as much heat as you can put at them and will be very popular by astute cattlemen who appreciate good structured, sound Angus with loads of shape, growth and phenotype. They will share the pen with another set of ET brothers who stem from champion lineage; brothers to this year’s Grand Champion Female at Canadian Western Agribition will be featured as well. The Angus numbers have grown on the same principles as the rest of the herd and will not disappoint, so select with confidence as the Wheatland team is extremely proud of this Angus offering. To be successful as a seedstock producer you need to have the ability to see what traits are most desirable to the consumer, then develop them coupled with an extreme passion to produce a product that the customer will appreciate bettering his own program, making everyone involved a profit and success. Terms and Conditions

TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds. BIDDING: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder... no by-bidding will be permitted. Disputes – Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in dispute. If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final. ANNOUNCEMENTS: All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures. BREEDER’S GUARANTEE: Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over fail to prove a breeder after being used on females known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following the date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze. EXCEPTION GUARANTEE: In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Association and the Canadian Angus Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made. LIABILITIES: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that Sale Management is acting only as a medium between buyer and seller and is not responsible for any failure on, the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does Sale Management assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties and any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken must be between the buyer and the seller. Sale Management assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations made hereunder. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS: The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
