10 Ways To Help You Snag Mr. Right! You see him from across the room. Your eyes lock. This is it, You've found him! It's Mr. Right! Right? Wrong. If it was that easy to get and keep a guy, Anne Boleyn probably could have kept her head. It has become obvious that there is much more to landing a man than just making googley eyes at each other across the office or bar, and the following are a pretty good start to snagging your special someone. 10. Take it Easy... Just because you are ready for a serious commitment right now doesn't mean he is. If you want to finish the marathon, don't sprint your first mile. 9. Show Him Your Talents... If you love to ice skate, karaoke, or write poetry, show him. Watching you act on your passions will let him get to know you in a special way. Plus it can be a good segway into other passionate alleys...wink wink. 8. Don't Lie ...When he asks you a question, tell him the answer. Building a possible relationship on lies is a big no-no. The last thing you want is to get caught in a fib way down the road. 7. Be Cool Around His Friends... Feel this one out to the best of your abilities. You don't want to come off needy or whiney with your guy. 6. Tell a Joke...You've got to have a good one in your arsenal somewhere. Whip it out to make him laugh, but only when appropriate. Timing is everything, especially with dirty jokes. 5. Don't Talk too much about one thing, example work, your wardrobe, your 15 cats, or just yourself in general. We often do this without realizing it. Keep tabs on yourself. 4. Buy Him a Drink... Definitely not on the first date when he is trying to impress you, but when the two of you are out on the town, get him a beer or two. Show him you are willing to split the bill, and it will be the beginning of a beautiful partnership. 3. Turn Off the Crazy... Snooping through texts, interrogating him about his ex's, calling him at 3AM to tell him you just ate a bag of Cheetos...all of these things are not going to help you get the guy, so lay off the crazy. 2. Look Your Best... If you look good, you feel good, and that feeling is contagious, which brings us to numero Uno
1. Have Confidence... A man can tell when a woman feels good about themselves, and that confidence is the most attractiveboudoirmag.com-March/April thing to a man. 2010

Where Is My Ring? By Naquette Porter
Why are some men so afraid of commitment these days? Is it that they are afraid of that "Old ball and chain" clichĂŠ that has been haunting men for decades. Can it be that men are already getting the goods without the commitment any way? Are women giving men an easy way out of marriage by shacking up and having pre-marital sex? You know the old saying "Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free". Maybe it's women who are less inclined to get married these days. We are in an age where women are making more money, holding high profile careers, and are becoming more independent and career driven. Could it be that relationships have become a distraction and priorities are no longer having kids and raising families? Have relationships become a series of meaningless sex and financial burdens? We as women have to admit no matter how successful we become we are sensitive nurturers and most of us have instilled in us that a good life would be to get married and raise a family. Maybe those were the hopes of generations past. Have times changed? We can never completely change who we are, we all want to love and be loved. Women will always dream of that fairytale wedding and the knight on the white horse. If our lives are based on finding that special someone to spend our lives with, why are there less couples getting married? Why can't we get our men to say those two simple words "I Do"? boudoirmag.com-March/April 2010

Spring Trend Report By Tina Whittaker Be Bold and Slightly Mixed Up--Trekker is the hottest new trend this season. No it’s not a person who is into sci-fi. By definition it is: a traveler who makes a long arduous journey (i.e. hiking through mountainous country). In essence Trekker style translates to a sort of advanced vacation or weekend wear. For starters to get the Trekker look add khaki tones, camouflage prints, tie -dye and a pop of sun-kissed beaded colors to your wardrobe. Be bold in your prints. Don’t be afraid to mix floral and animal prints.
Add some sparkle to your wardrobe—sequins are luminous and flatter fair to dark skin tones. This trend has not fizzled out yet. A scarf that has a touch of sequins or a full on sequined shirt t dress will be most fetching for any figure. If you have a little sparkle or a lot; either way you will be on trend.

Durable Denim- Denim has never gone out –but its back in a big way more like In a 1980’s way. You can wear it in an edgy or sweet fashion. Denim can be worn distressed, in a tie-dye design, or a full on rugged denim vest. Denim can be worn with almost anything—including leather. You can add a biker jacket to denim jeans or add a ruffled shirt with distressed jeans to appear whimsical and soft with rough edges! Whichever way you wear it you can’t mess up denim because it is resilient and forgiving.
Rhianna and Heidi Klum Rocking’ distressed denim
Geeky-Chic—Buyers from high end department stores are buying this trend up. Although it has been popular for a minute the new spin on this trend is to add bright colors and patterns to your personal frames. Tres chic! Justin Timberlake being true to Geeky Chic style
Colors of spring Spring colors will be something to look forward to this season. This is what hottest colors of spring will say about you: •Red-Bold •Blush Nude-flirty and feminine •Silver--Sultry •Lavender--Youthful •Sea foam Green Pastel-Fresh •Acid Yellow—Vibrant and electric

The trends of spring time are colorful, edgy and flexible. Although it is fun to incorporate new spring pieces into your wardrobe, by all means do not buy a completely new wardrobe for spring. You may even have items in your closet that you can bring out for the spring season. Whatever your budget—pick one trend to wear at a time. If you pile too many key trends on at once you will look like a clown instead of a fashionista. Be diverse with your look and be free to be you. Are you BEACH BODY ready? By Dee Ann Cowan
Well, it’s March and that means summer is fast approaching! Are you ready? Are you BEACH BODY ready? If you are, great, but if you aren’t - DON’T PANIC. You still have plenty of time to get beach body ready if you set your goals now and follow these simple steps for fitness and good nutrition. These steps will get that body toned, sculpted and ready to hit the beach in your bikini. Building your beach body requires both exercise and a healthy diet. You need a healthy diet, but you will lose more weight and more inches when you combine the diet with exercise. Three types of exercises are recommended: 1. Cardio exercises to burn calories and shed fat. Speed and intensity are important to increase metabolism. 2. Strength training with weights to build muscles and tighten your midsection. You’ll need 2 sets of dumbbells - a light to moderate set for small muscle groups (arms and shoulders) and one set of moderate to heavy for the large muscle groups (legs, back and chest). 3. Flexibility training can offset age-related stiffness, improve athletic performance and optimize functional movement in daily life. It is recommended to focus on losing 1 - 2 lbs per week. If you try to lose weight too much too fast your plan may backfire. If you lose more than 2 lbs a week, you’re losing muscle along with fat - the result is thinner but flabbier! Severely restricting your diet can also deflect your weight-loss efforts. This leads to cravings, irritability and will slow your metabolism as your body fights to hang onto fuel. You should also watch your workout intensity level. If you are new to exercising, it’s easy to injure yourself if you do too much too soon. So listen to your body and work your way up to more moderate levels when it’s ready. If you’ve been working out for a while, kick up your existing routine with something new or with more intensity. For optimal weight loss, it’s recommended to do cardiovascular activities at least 30 - 60 minutes, 3 - 5 days a week and strength training 3 days a week targeting all major muscle groups. Beginners can start with less-intense activities such as walking or low impact aerobics and strength train 1 - 2 days a week and work your way up to more intense activities such s running, indoor cycling and kickboxing and 3 days of strength training.

Commitment is key With your goals set and enough time to reach them you need to be consistent with your plan. Whatever the activities, it takes your commitment to see results. If you can’t fit the entire workout in at once, break it down into smaller workouts throughout the day - morning, lunch and after work. It’s easy to fill up 10 minute blocks of time with brisk walking, jump roping or jogging in place. You can even combine your cardio and strength training for a “mini” boot camp to really rev up your metabolism and blast calories. As for watching your diet, you should keep a daily food log of everything you eat and when for at least 3 days. This will give you a real look at what you’re putting in your body and how much. It gives you an opportunity to take inventory and make necessary tweaks - reduce portions and eat more fruits and vegetables. To lose a pound of fat in a week, you need to create a deficit of 3500 calories by eating less and exercising more. At the end of the day, it’s calories in vs. calories out. Looking good With these steps you can see results in 4 - 6 weeks. Healthy eating and regular exercise will lead to higher energy levels, better sleep, a moderate amount of weight loss and an increase in muscle tone. To help further increase the tone and shape of your body, I’ve developed a “mini” boot camp routine to supplement your current regime. You’ll soon have the confidence to put on your bikini and walk the sands of the beach! Enjoy your summer!

Not To Shabby But Definitely Chic By Naquette Porter
Old furniture was never a favorite of mine until I discovered Shabby Chic. I instantly fell in love with the authentic details and distressed finishes. Rachel Ashwell has turned old into magnificent. Manor florals, rought iron canopies, and beautiful woods are among some of her intricate pieces of art. If you've ever wanted to step into a French country cottage, or into a home in the English countryside step into one of Rachel Ashwell's boutiques for decor that will whisk you away.

Tee Time
by Kristin Marquet
Fashion’s Spring Essential – The Classically Fashionable Tee Shirt The American staple, the t-shirt has become a leading trend, thanks to top celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Rihanna, and Jennifer Aniston. In fact, many celebs were spotted at New York Fashion Week wearing stylishly basic tee ensembles

Mena Suvari (left) paired her sheer tee with shiny pants and a short leather jacket. Kirsten Dunst (Center) kept her ensemble a little more formal by pairing her French tee with a little longer than knee length black skirt. Victoria Beckham (Right) wore a Fashion for Haiti tee with a sexy blazer and skinny jeans. Paired with a sexy skirt, skinny jeans or worn under a blouse, or a stylish leather jacket, a good fit tee with a clean design is what makes the warm spring and summer months so enjoyable and relaxing. We did the legwork for you and picked out this spring and summer season’s tee top picks.

This boot camp routine is designed to be done anywhere - home, office, even vacation - and anytime. The only equipment you need is a pair of 3 - 5 lb dumbbells. If you don’t have any, don’t worry about it, you can still do the workout without them. This routine will target your problem areas for the upcoming bikini season and help you gain the sculpted, lean body you want. While this routine can be done in 10 minutes, I recommend doing the circuit at least 3 times each day you do it to really work up a sweat! To get started, do a brief 1 - 2 minute warm up by climbing your stairs, marching in place or doing some jumping jacks to get your heart rate up and your body ready. Remember to stretch all major muscle groups in the body after this workout to keep them long and lean. Ready…. Let’s GO!! * 30 second interval of jumping jacks * Walking lunges with hammer curls: starting at the end of your foyer or hallway and holding a weight in each hand, palms facing your legs, take a step out to lunge in front with your right leg, then curl the weights up towards the shoulder as you lunge. Take a step in with your left leg and uncurl the arm as you return to start. Next, step out with the left leg to lunge and curl and repeat as you “walk” to the end and back. * 30 second interval of jogging in place
boudoirmag.com-March/April 2010
33
* Standard squat with overhead press: standing with your feet about hip to shoulder width apart and a weight in each hand, bring your arms up to shoulder height and bent to 90 degree angles, palms facing forward. As your lower into your squat, press your arms overhead, towards the ceiling then return to start. To successfully lower into your squat, imagine sitting in a chair, keep your abs tight and weight through your heels. Do 25 reps. * 30 second interval of mountain climbers * Push-ups (advanced or modified): remember to keep your abs tight and wrists, elbows and shoulders in alignment. Do 25 reps *30 second interval jump rope: with or without one * Walking lunges with standard curls: same as earlier, except the palm is facing up and the curl is positioned more in front of you as opposed to the hammer curl where it’s next to you. “Walk” down the hallway and back.
* 30 second interval plank jacks: get into the plank (top end of a pushup), keeping your hips low and abs tight, “jack” your legs out and in for 30 seconds. * Plie squat with upright row: holding a weight in each hand with feet wide, toes out at a comfortable angle. Slowly lower into a squat, keeping knees and toes in alignment and at the same time, raise the weights up towards mid chest. Slowly stand back up and lower the weight. Do 25 reps. * 30 second interval of jumping jacks * Overhead triceps extension: stand with feet grounded and a slight bend in your knee. Grasp the dumbbell with both hands and hold it straight up, slightly behind your head. The weight should point down to the floor as you lower it behind your head while keeping your upper arms and elbows still, only bending your lower arms. Then raise it until your arms are extended overhead. Do 25 reps. The bottom line with this boot camp workout is that it is an efficient, motivational and fun workout for all fitness levels. Because this workout has an emphasis on total body training, you'll get a great workout, blast tons of calories, build strength and never get bored. You'll be looking in a mirror at the new you before you know it!
