PROGRAMS This summer stay active and keep learning with Boulder Public Library’s Summer of Discovery: Our Connected World. This annual event includes a reading challenge and experiences for people of all ages. For 2021 we have a community goal to read 500,000 minutes!

2021 Joining is easy – sign up and play online through our Beanstack app, or pick up a log at one of our open locations. Everyone who registers will earn a prize. Children and teen participants can choose a book prize. Adults will receive a journal prize. Players have activity goals and individual and community reading goals. Library staff can suggest great titles to add to your list. Participants who reach their goals will earn a pass to Gateway Park! In addition to helping you find the perfect books, the library has a host of activities for all ages. Keep an eye on the website to stay up to date as programs are added. A sneak peek of programs includes Lego building with Play-Well TEKnologies, online Spanish lessons for youth 0-10, painting Pride Ponies and bi-lingual poetry writing workshops. Whether we gather online, or are able to meet in-person, we are excited to connect with you this summer. Be part of Our Connected World and have fun along the way!


BLDG 61 BLDG 61, the Boulder Public Library’s Makerspace, offers virtual and in-person access to 3D printers, laser cutters and more. Find out what you can make: BLDG61.org

BOULDERREADS BOULDERREADS LITERACY for ALL. BoulderReads supports the community with individual adult literacy and language tutoring. For more: boulderreads.org CONVERSATIONS IN ENGLISH: Join other English learners and practice your speaking and listening skills in a friendly and informal environment. Groups meet online six days a week. CHILDREN & FAMILY Storytimes and activities provide fun and uplifting literacy activities online. ONLINE GO CLUB meets weekly on Sundays at 2 p.m. VIRTUAL SPANISH CLASS WITH MS. DENISE! Ideal for ages 0-10, new classes released online every Monday and Wednesday.

LEGO BUILD-ALONG WITH PLAY-WELL TEKNOLOGIES for ages 6-11, meets monthly on Third Tuesdays of the month at 4:30 p.m. MIS PININOS CONVERSATION SPANISH GROUP for children meets every Wednesday at 4 p.m.

CIVIC LIFE Citizenship classes meet every Monday to discuss and study the process of becoming a U.S. citizen. All nationalities and languages are welcome. To register: email booksforhumanity@yahoo.com

COMMUNITY GROUPS The library sponsors many community-organized book discussions and activity groups.  A full listing of topics and dates are available on the library calendar.


STORYTIMES For a full listing of storytime dates and times, or to access our recorded storytimes: research.boulderlibrary.org/youth/kids-family INTERACTIVE STORYTIMES including All Ages, Spanish/English, Musical and Toddler Time happen each week!

DIAL-A-STORY IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH: Call 303-441-3102. Stories change weekly on Tuesdays.

TWEENS & TEENS BOOK QUEERIES, first Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. TEEN CHATS, weekly on Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. TWEEN TIME, monthly on Saturdays, days and times vary.

Meet in an inclusive online space to watch shows, discuss books and play games!

ANIMAY, new programs every week during the month of May. Learn more about the culture of Japan, and meet new like-minded friends virtually! Special programs include: Hey Let’s Go: Take a virtual tour of Japan through the lens or your favorite Studio Ghibli movies, Make it yourself: Cosplay Headbands, AniMAY themed gift bags (available while supplies last), and more!

WORKSHOPS SEED TO TABLE: A series of programs that focus on sustainable living ranging from gardening and cooking to natural remedies and supporting pollinators. For more: boulderlibrary.org/seed-to-table COMMUNITY COOKS: We invite you to gather online with us for a monthly virtual dinner party and cooking demo. A new cook every month will be sharing recipes close to their heart and culture. Ingredient lists are released a week prior so you can cook along!
