Method

1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees 2. Heat water in a large saucepan and add potatoes to cook 3. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat 4. Add onion, carrot, celery and bacon and cook until vegetables start to soften 5. Add mince and stir over heat until mince changes colour 6. Add the flour and cook for a minute or so until it is combined 7. Add the beef stock, Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste. Stir and bring to boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer until sauce thickens (approx. 20 – 30 minutes). Season with salt and pepper as desired. 8. Drain potatoes, return to saucepan and mash with butter and milk. 9. Transfer meat mixture into casserole dish. Spoon or pipe mashed potato on top. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. ** Potatoes can be topped with melted butter rather than cheese if preferred.
