We are Freshers events
After a challenging year of Covid-19 restrictions the time has come to get together again and celebrate your arrival at university. SUBU has pulled together a great collection of events for freshers’ fortnight – all under the banner ‘We are Freshers’. If you love big club nights - we have them. If you yearn for great bands making the hair stand up on the back of your neck – we also have them. If you fancy chuckling away to some of the finest rising stars of stand-up comedy – we have them too. Nearly all of these events take place in The Old Fire Station, and for some of you it will become your second home!

Dylan’s Kitchen & Bar
The only bar on Talbot Campus puts on regular socials such as quizzes and karaoke launching from the start of term – it’s a good choice if you don’t want to be out too late.
Trips and tours
If you love exploring, SUBU runs a range of exciting tours to beautiful cities like Bath and Oxford as well as to world heritage sites like Stonehenge and the Jurassic Coast. Trips start from October and are a great way to see some amazing places with your friends.

Beyond September
Our events are only just getting started when you arrive – we have plenty more to offer throughout the year. You might like to come along to one or more of our events to celebrate Black History Month in October, join in with a talk or debate or perhaps meet up with friends at a celebratory event. Another popular date for your diary is Speak Week – a week-long event in November which provides BU students with an opportunity to get your voices heard on a range of topics.
