Welcome to the 2024 Bowls USA National Championships!
Congratulations to all the Division winners on qualifying for this prestigious competition by winning your respective Playdowns in the Women’s and Men’s Singles and Pairs. Bowls USA is very proud of your accomplishments, just as you should be!
I would like to recognize and highlight some milestones:
We have returning winners of the Women’s Pairs (SED), Men’s Singles (SWD)and Men’s Pairs (PIMD) from last year
We have several repeat Divisional winners returning
We have one of our youngest male players participating for his second appearance in the Men’s Pairs for Southwest Stars
We have 17 out of 48 new players representing their Divisions as first-timers
We have two father and son teams from NED and SWD-Stars
On behalf of Bowls USA, we would like to express a very sincere thanks to Milwaukee Lake Park Lawn Bowling Association and the Central Division (CD) for hosting this year’s event. Without clubs like yours offering your facility and beautiful greens, we would not be able to host events such as these.
Special thanks and recognition goes to the 2024 National Championship committee led by Ginger Harris, Janice Bell & Bud Riccuci and this year’s Tournament Director, Anna Witt and her committee of volunteers.
To all the volunteers, markers, greens keepers and hospitality crew, thank you for your attention to the littlest to larger details that are required to make this event memorable for both the participants and spectators.

Congratulations to all of the players who qualified to represent their divisions this year! The BowlsUSA National Championships Committee has worked for the past year with the Milwaukee Lake Park Lawn Bowls Association and the Central Division to make this an experience to remember. Volunteers have stepped up to help take care of the details that will make the days run smoothly so you will have the best experience possible both on and off the green. Organizing the draw, tabulating results, providing hospitality, recruiting markers and scoreboard flippers, enlisting umpires, planning Opening and Awards ceremonies, caring for the greens and a myriad of other tasks all need a committed cadre of enthusiastic volunteers. Please acknowledge their efforts in the coming days.
The committee welcomes feedback on your experience here in Milwaukee. It is our intent to continue to streamline the planning and organization of this preeminent tournament so that future possible hosts will feel comfortable stepping up to offer their own venues to our nation’s top bowlers Again, congratulations and good bowling!
A special thank you to Martha Nilsen, chair and 2023 National Championships Tournament Director for her generous help this year. Her insights and constructive suggestions proved more than helpful in the planning and organization for 2024.

The Bowls USA National Championships’ return to Milwaukee is long overdue. We last hosted in 2006 and are excited to have this event return to our well maintained greens, beautiful park, and wonderful city in 2024. Thank you to Bowls USA for the invitation to host and support from the Executive Board and Nationals Committee to see this through. Thank you to Milwaukee Lake Park Lawn Bowling Association Board of Directors and all of its members for your efforts to get our greens, grounds, and clubhouse prepared and for the hospitality you will be showing our guests.
