The course is designed for study at Standard level. It is for students who wish to develop mathematical knowledge, concepts and principles, logical, critical and creative thinking. They will employ and refine their powers of abstraction and generalisation. Students are also encouraged to appreciate the international dimensions of mathematics and the multiplicity of its cultural and historical perspectives. It is intended for students who enjoy developing mathematical arguments, problem solving and exploring real and abstract applications, with and without technology.
