a development programme for people who choose to become professional executive coaches. The pioneering NTL Institute for Applied Behavioural Science, based in Washington USA, together with Delta Partnership, a leading provider of executive coaching based in the UK, are pleased to launch this Programme for the development of professional coaching capabilities.
Discovering and developing a coaching approach which is an expression of ourselves is key to our success. It is unlikely that Carl Rogers would have been as successful if he had applied Albert Ellis’s methods and style! At the same time, there are foundation principles and practices expected of Executive Coaches operating in the field.
Professional Executive Coaching is a fulfilling career choice which an increasing number of talented and committed individuals are making. As a practice, it offers challenging and rewarding work as well as a wide range of life-long learning opportunities.
The Whole Coach
Furthermore, the business case for Executive Coaching has now been demonstrated. More and more managers and leaders are turning to professional coaches to help them enhance their performance and that of their business, and more and more organisations are offering it as a service to their senior leaders. So the demand for professional coaching support is increasing; at the same time, clients are becoming more aware of what professional coaching is, and expect high levels of knowledge, skills and capability from providers. This Programme gives people who are new to the field what they need to enter the practice of coaching with confidence in their capability.
TM
incorporates both of these
perspectives. Over a 12 month period, participants will learn first about themselves – gaining knowledge of Self and learning how to use Self to support others in their development, are fundamental coaching capacities. Participants will then be introduced to a set of foundation principles and to a range of coaching frameworks, approaches, processes and tools. They will be provided with live practice opportunities to enable them to develop their own preferred coaching methodology and style, and they will receive ongoing individual support from the Programme Faculty.

Human Interaction Laboratory: one of the distinguishing features of this Programme is the opportunity to participate in an NTL Human Interaction Laboratory. This four day, intensive session will provide participants with the following: • • • •
An increased understanding of human dynamics An increased awareness of their impact and influence as a Coach An increased ability to give and receive deep levels of feedback An increased awareness of diversity issues Increased interpersonal effectiveness
The Coach’s Voice: a further distinguishing feature of this Programme is the opportunity for participants to explore and understand the impact of their voice on their work. Professional Affiliation
T H E W H O L E C O A C H TM
Continued Professional Development and Affiliation are expected of all practitioners in the established professions; in the profession of Coaching, they are considered to be fundamental.
This information will be used to tailor the Programme content to ensure that it meets these needs. Please note: no formal prior experience of coaching is required to participate in the Programme.
Participants will be introduced to a set of current and recognised professional Coaching organisations and encouraged to join one of their choice.
Certification
This will expose them to the wider profession and its ongoing development opportunities; it will also involve them subscribing to the Code of Ethics of their chosen association. Subscribing to a code of ethics will be a requirement of participation in the Programme. Should a participant not wish, upon entry of the Programme, to join a particular association, they will be provided with the Programme Code of Ethics which they will be required to sign. Acceptance Applicants to the Programme will be asked to complete an application form which focuses on their intentions for entering the coaching profession, and their own personal development aspirations.
NTL Institute will issue participants with a certificate which records the number of session hours they have attended, the topics covered in the Programme, the number of coaching hours attained, the number of supervisory hours provided, and the names of the Programme Faculty, along with their credentials.
