Worship—At Hope Lutheran Church, we worship together on Sunday at 8:15 and 10:30. Our Sunday School class begins during worship at the 10:30 service. On the fourth Sunday, Family Worship, there is no Sunday School since we encourage our Sunday School staff and church families to worship together as a community. Our 8:15 service is our traditional liturgical service and the 10:30 service is a blended worship style with a variety of music. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at each Sunday service and all are welcome to participate.

Growing in Faith -- Hope offers many opportunities to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Adult Forums are held on most Sunday mornings at 9:30. On Wednesday there is a Bible study at the church at 10am and on Thursdays there is a men’s breakfast and Bible study that is held at 6:30 am at the Perkins restaurant in Bozeman. Both studies look at the upcoming Scripture lesson for Sunday. Other programming includes Sunday School, Confirmation, and active youth and college programs which include an annual mission trip and ski weekend. Hope Lutheran also hosts a Tuesday and Thursday Coffee and Conversation gathering at 10 am which a wonderful informal time for fellowship.

Service—Hope takes part in many community service outreach projects. We host Family Promise throughout the year, provide for underprivileged children to “shop” for their families at our Christmas Shoppe in December, pack Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and serve at the Fork & Spoon and the Mobile Soup Kitchen. In all these projects, we believe we are doing God’s Work with Our Hands.

We are called to welcome, equip, and serve all by sharing God’s love and hope through Christ.

You already have many spiritual skills that you can learn to tap into and develop. In the same way an athlete builds physical strength, you can strengthen your divine connection through spiritual exercises. They are designed to expand your awareness and improve your outlook on life. Everyone can benefit from them.

A Spiritual Exercise to Try: HU (pronounced like the word hue) is an ancient name for God that can open your heart, help you find inner peace, and give you a higher perspective. With eyes open or closed, take a few deep breaths to relax. Then begin to sing HU in a long, drawn out sound H-U-U-U. Take another breath and sing HU for several minutes. Do this with love. You can follow the HU with five to ten minutes of quiet contemplation if you wish. Daily practice of the HU Song, for up to twenty minutes, will build your spiritual stamina and help you listen to the voice of God. Harold Klemp is the spiritual leader of Eckankar. • GEMS (girls in grades K-5) and Cadets (boys in grades K-9) meet at the Legacy site on Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:30-8:00 pm.
