chool Assemblies School assemblies are held in our gymnasium each Friday at 2:40 p.m. They provide us with the opportunity to address the children collectively and to give recognition to student achievement through the presentation of student awards such as Stars of the Week and student performances. These performances are enjoyed equally, not only by parents and students in the audience, but also by the performers themselves! The students who learn keyboard through the Primary Music Institute [PMI], each gave a solo performance to demonstrate their developing musical abilities.    

A visit to our sister school Yangzhong Experimental Primary School will be a highlight of their visitation. ear 5/6 Mini Fete As you know the school Mini Fete is coming up on the 23rd of October. The school holidays are coming up and it’s time to clear out your cupboards! We would appreciate it if you could donate old household items, like toys, board games, books, etc. that your family doesn't want anymore to sell at the Trash & Treasure stall. We organise the Mini Fete to raise money for new school equipment and to learn about economics. Some Year 5 students will come around to each classroom to collect them at the start of term 4. arking and Maintaining Safety Around our School—A Letter from a Concerned Resident!! My name is Donna and I'm a local resident in the area. I am absolutely appalled at the behaviour of some of the parents at the primary school. Just over the past couple of weeks I have not been able to get through Bemersyde Drive due to double parking and when I have attempted to collect dry cleaning from the milk bar next door, I have felt so sorry for the owners who clearly have a sign up saying customers only. The way the parents have parked on the shop nature strip was disgraceful. But even more so, one afternoon whilst passing the school, I witnessed a, maybe 7 year old, child run across the road directly out the front of my car to get into her parents car on the other side. I'm absolutely horrified that the parents are not observing any of the crossings and double parking and just basically parking wherever they choose to. I have notified the Narre Warren police and have also made a call to local laws. Please I beg of you, parents, this behaviour is not acceptable and my grave concerns are someone loses their life! The itinerary includes visits to The Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, The Summer Palace and The Great Wall. After visiting Beijing, a trip on the bullet train will take them to Nanjing, where they will attend a welcoming ceremony held by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. A short bus trip and our delegation will homestay with host families from our sister school in Yangzhong. Shanghai and then after a few days visiting the Yu Garden, the Old Town Market, the World’s Finance Centre, Nanjing Road and The Bund, they will head home! The entire visitation will be an exploration journey including cultural and educational experiences for all taking part! You can enjoy the feature of day 1 and 2 in this week’s newsletter!

RC On Tuesday the 19th of September Brentwood Park Primary had a ‘wear your sporting colours’ day. We raised funds for Need for Feed Disaster Relief who support Australian farmers and their communities. This organisation is run by the Lions Club of Pakenham. Since 2006, Need For Feed have been supporting communities and farmers across Victoria. Over that time, Need For Feed have been the major supplier of emergency fodder (dried hay or straw) to farmers in need, outdoing the State Government and other agencies combined. Using donations, Need For Feed drop off the stock & animal feed to affected larger properties by semi load trucks. They also supply smaller properties by ute convoys. Brentwood Park is proud to announce that we raised $550 for the organization. Thank you to those in our community who gave a gold coin donation!

LEASE DIRECT MONEY FOR EXCURSIONS, ETC TO YOUR CLASSROOM TEACHER - NOT TO THE OFFICE.

Please hand money and permission slip in sealed envelopes to classroom teacher first thing in the morning. By following this process teachers are aware that your child will be attending the excursion and mark them off their lists. Money is collected by office staff and processed each morning and a receipt given back to teachers along with permission slips. All money is tallied and banked daily – no money is left on the premises. If you wish to pay by credit card, a proforma is available from the office. This can be filled out with details and placed in a sealed envelope and handed to your classroom teacher Please deliver cash in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and grade on the front by 9.30 a.m. If you have a number of children attending an excursion you can place all money and permission slips in the one envelope with children’s names and grades on the front and deliver to one of the children’s teachers. The office staff will be able to allocate money to the children’s particular items and distribute permission slips and receipts back to teachers. Envelopes are available at the office. If you have a large amount to be paid or need to process an EFTPOS transaction through a savings account you can make arrangements to pay at the office. We also have a new Qkr payment system on our Skoolbag app. If you download our Skoolbag app and Qkr payment app you can now pay for your child’s excursion on line. All change will be delivered to the children in the afternoon. Re-imbursements will only be made under certain circumstances – they will be made by cheque (no cash transactions are made). Notices are sent out with a final collection time – please adhere to this time. All money and per mission slips ar e required to be sent back by this date – otherwise your child will not be able to attend. This enables us to confirm bookings and numbers with bus companies and organisations we are visiting. Also we need to send details to the Department of Education Emergency Management for all excursions, camps, etc. We also need to accommodate students who will not be attending. We would appreciate it if parents could please follow these processes.
