Virginia Highlands Public Library EGO Tower at Peachtree Street Lustrous Waltz Kihn Module Drafting 01 02

Virginia Highlands Public Library This is a public library that sits in the Virginia Highlands area. The design was inspired by natural elements that existed on the site which were trees. I looked at the bark on the trees which determined the exterior facade arrangement. Also, on the west facade the building meanders through existing tree location. The purpose of this project was to conserve the natural environment around the site as well as to capture natural elements that can be a catalyst for the design of this library. Respecting the Building Code for this area was a bit tricky. Within this nestled neighborhood, I didn’t want to take away the beauty from the neighborhood, however, I wanted to add richness and knowledge in an area that does not have to many libraries.

Drafting is an essential part of the architecture design process. It lets the architect physically able to see on paper what he/she have designed. It is also important for the construction of the project as well. Without drafts, It would be impossible for any projects to be built. Here is a project that I created a semi-detailed drafts of a school in North Georgia.
