Downtown Knoxville

Old City

South Knoxville

Separated from the city by the Tennessee River, South Knoxville offers a picturesque gateway to the mountains. Otherwise known as The SoKno, the neighborhood connects to Downtown by the Henley Bridge, Gay Street Bridge, the James C. Ford Memorial Bridge, and the J. E. “Buck” Karnes Bridge. Old North Knoxville

Sitting just north of Downtown, is the tranquil neighborhood of Old North Knoxville. This neighborhood is full of restored historic homes which is a common attraction for families and history lovers. Being built before automobiles resulted in this area having an ample amount of sidewalks that connect to the community. Today, on the National Register of Historic Places, there are over 400 houses and structures in Old North.

Farragut

Though Farragut is not quite a Knoxville neighborhood, it is a desirable suburb. A short 17-mile commute to Downtown Knoxville is well worth Farragut’s parks, 18 sports fields, 10-miles of greenways, Willow Creek Golf Club and Fox Den Country Club. A common attraction for visitors that roll into town is the Farragut Folklife Museum which is home to a multitude of artifacts representing local history. Island Home

Situated in the southeastern part of Knoxville along the Tennessee river is the historic suburb of Island Home. Musicians Corner has provided free public access to live music since 2010 in the heart of Music City, beautiful Centennial Park. The series generally takes place in May/June and September every year. Having long been recognized as a destination for some of the most influential and brightest musicians, Nashville welcomes music lovers from around the world to share in their appreciation of live music. Over 1,500 artists have been showcased on the Musician’s Corner stage, including legendary artists Chris Stapleton, Emmylou Harris, Vince Gill and Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
