CELEBRATE WINTER IN CROSSLAKE WinterFest activities slated Feb. 1-3 across town Crosslake will embrace Minnesota football while offering old-fashioned winter fun for the family during the 15th annual WinterFest on ThursdaySaturday, Feb. 1-3. Firefighters to host pancake breakfast fundraiser The Crosslake Fire Department will host its annual pancake breakfast from 8-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Crosslake Lutheran Church, 35960 County Road 66. Breakfast will

include scrambled eggs, sausage, juice, coffee and pancakes. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children under 10. Proceeds are used to buy firefighting equipment.

The first of three daily clues to lead people to the Lost Medallion will be released at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at local merchants and online at www. crosslake.com. The second clue will be released at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, and the final clue at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3. SoupFest soups will be judged in two categories: Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice. A panel of local judges will vote and award the traveling Judges’ Choice trophy for the best soup among all the entries regardless of category. Participants will also compete in either the People’s Choice Culinary Division (restaurant) or People’s Choice Amateur (non-restaurant) division. Everyone is welcome to participate. There are four age categories: 5 and under, 6-9, 10-14 and 15 plus One entry per artist. Entries must be completed and submitted by Saturday, February 3rd at 12 noon. Late submissions will still go on display but may not be eligible for voting. • Turn in completed coloring to the park office of the: U.S. Army Corps of Engineer Crosslake Recreation Area 35507 County Rd. 66; P.O. Box 36 Crosslake, MN 56442 • Winner need not be present to win.
