Winter comes, snow falls, and Nisswa is transformed into a scene straight out of a holiday movie. The day after Thanksgiving, Nisswa is lit up for the City of Lights celebration. Lights twinkle up and down the street, holiday shopping is in full swing, and folks sip hot chocolate while taking in the sights. A fantastic fireworks show lights up the night to kick off the holiday season! Things are in full swing at Mount Ski Gull as skiers, snowboarders and tubers make their way down the hill. The area is full of snowmobilers enjoying the hundreds of miles of trails the lakes area has to offer. Lakes become small cities as ice fishermen bring out their fish houses and try their luck at catching the big one!
