Later on, during a real-life debate, Republican governor and presidential hopeful Rick Perry forgot one of the three government agencies he planned to ax should he win the presidency, resulting in a similarly awkward scramble to come up with something to say.

The antics of the characters’ personal lives is another comedic anchor of the show, as well as how those private issues often bleed into their jobs. Talking about his role as Selina’s cartoonishly loyal political aide, Hale told Stephen Colbert, “I do emasculation really well,” and he described Gary as an insecure yes-man who “worships the ground Selina Meyer walks on.” This dynamic is comedy gold, given Selina’s penchant for selfabsorption and insensitivity.
For the cast, starring in the series has been an exceptionally emotional journey. On the final day of shooting the series, many of the stars posted emotional tweets about the show and the family they had found on the job. Hale posted a selfie in which he wears a sweater with a heart on it, with a caption that read, “I can’t describe how blessed and thankful I feel for everyone here. The sweater says it best.” A seven-season run is nothing to sneeze at, and many of the cast members have been through a lot while working on the show. LouisDreyfus herself battled breast cancer, and the show went on hiatus in 2017 while she was in treatment. She fought hard and won that battle, and fans of the show will appreciate this final season all the more because of her strength and courage.
Season 7 packs a lot into its seven episodes, and since the end of the line came about organically (instead of by way of a sudden cancellation), fans can look forward to a satisfying and, of course, hilarious ending. You can watch the season premiere when it airs Sunday, March 31, on HBO.

Baby food: Molly Yeh’s family gets bigger in ‘Girl Meets Farm’

Weall get food cravings. Sometimes it’s a rich, succulent burger or buttery and salty popcorn; other times we want something sweet, like a big, generous slice of pecan pie or an entire tub of chocolate ice cream. Being pregnant, though, can take those cravings to an entirely new level, and one of Food Network’s most endearing hosts is inviting viewers to join her on a food-focused journey through her pregnancy.
A new season of “Girl Meets Farm” kicks off Sunday, March 31, with host Molly Yeh setting out on a new adventure: impending motherhood. Throughout the season, she brings her combined Chinese and Jewish heritage to bear as she tack-
les the challenges — and the excitement — of pregnancy.
In this week’s season premiere, Molly puts some tasty spins on a few of her favorite dishes that she prepares for the dad-to-be, her husband, Nick. She prepares a Chicago dog meatloaf with a mustard glaze, makes a salt-and-vinegar potato galette and whips up some wedge salads with bacon and feta cream.
Next week, as her due date draws closer, the host prepares some make-ahead meals that are destined for the freezer for those days when she just doesn’t have the energy to cook. On the menu are sweet potato and black bean burritos, mini spinach and artichoke chicken casseroles, and even some potato bagel breakfast sandwiches. Of course, she ex-
pects dad to help out, so she also teaches Nick how to prepare a succulent (and super quick) salmon sheet pan supper with horseradish sauce.
Over the next few weeks, Molly hosts a baby shower and learns a few cherished family recipes from her own mother. Of course, it isn’t all baby all the time, and the host
also whips up a fresh spring feast to share with her family.
Molly Yeh is a big-city girl who grew up in Chicago’s suburbs before marrying and moving to her husband’s farm on the MinnesotaNorth Dakota border. She’s a woman with a wealth of experiences, and she shares them with audiences in “Girl Meets Farm.”
