THE BRAINERD LAKES is home to one of the best multispecies, freshwater fisheries in the country. You’ll find a variety of abundant species here ranging from panfish, large and small mouth bass, and muskie. The region is best known for Minnesota’s state fish—the walleye.

There are diverse lakes all over the region like Gull Chain, the Whitefish Chain of Lakes, Pelican, and Mille Lacs that are fruitful and popular fishing lakes. You’ll also find quiet smaller lakes that are wellstocked with fish, too.
