WE’RE WELL-KNOWN FOR OUR BOATING CULTURE, SO PADDLING A KAYAK MIGHT NOT BE TOP-OF-MIND.
KAYAKING IS THE PERFECT ACTIVITY IF YOU’RE LOOKING TO SLOW DOWN AND CONNECT WITH NATURE. CROW WING KAYAKS, LOCATED IN CROSSLAKE, WILL HELP YOU HAVE A LOW-KEY DAY ON THE WATER. THE WATER CLARITY AND UP-CLOSE LOOK AT WILDLIFE WILL BE A TRIP YOU’LL REMEMBER.
River Trips
Meander the Pine River on one of the 13 river trips that Crow Wing Kayaks offers. You can go for a full day or just a few hours. The kayaks are stable, comfortable, and the shorter routes are doable for all ages. Crow Wing Kayaks provide everything that goes along with the kayak, including a personal flotation device. You should pack sunscreen, bug spray, and water. You can also bring a cooler with lunch or light snacks, especially for the longer trips.

You can also rent kayaks, paddleboards, and foam floats. Spend one day on the water or rent for a few days while you’re here. Kayak and paddleboard rentals include life vests. Foam carrier pads and straps are available for you to haul. Crow Wing Kayaks also will deliver and provide a courtesy ride for a small fee.
Welcome to Crosslake, Kamp Kimchee!
Kamp Kimchee: July 10–14
Community School is the Kamp’s homebase, but activities happen all around the community. The public is welcome to join for Kamp lunches at the Crosslake Community School, taste authentic Korean cuisine, and meet Kampers and their families. It’s a great way to experience Korean culture and foods.
Last year, one of the community activities that Kampers could choose was kayaking. Kamp Kimchee teens spent a sunny afternoon at Strawberry Lake using kayaks and paddleboards that were provided and delivered by Crow Wing Kayaks.
It isn’t just Kamp Kimchee Kampers and families that love coming to Crosslake. The community loves when Kamp Kimchee is in town.
“The river was so calm we saw a lot of wildlife—cranes, herons, swans, falcons, and several schools of fish. Crow Wing Kayaks made the whole experience smooth and easy for us all.”
SARA MAY
Kamp Kimchee spends a week in Crosslake every July and provides insight into Korean culture. Kamp Kimchee is a culture day camp designed for Korean adoptees or kids of Korean descent. The whole family, including siblings—even if they’re not of Korean origin—are encouraged to participate to learn about and celebrate the Korean culture. This Kamp focuses on self-esteem, family education, and common identity.
A typical camp day includes high energy, classes, and activities. The Crosslake
“Crosslake is a good fit for Kamp Kimchee because almost everything is within walking distance or a very short drive, and we offer a lot of activities. Kamp Kimchee, in turn, gives back to Crosslake by allowing us to experience their culture through authentic Korean lunches that we wouldn’t otherwise have access to. It warms my heart to see “Welcome Kamp Kimchee” signs and Korean flags throughout Crosslake. We welcome Kamp Kimchee with open arms, and we thank them for continuing to choose Crosslake.”
