Library Facilities Master Plan Vision

“World-Class Libraries at Our Doorstep”

• reconfiguring shelves/stacks to reclaim space for programs and seating; • exploring acoustic baffles or sound barriers to contain noise; and • updating furniture and equipment at selected branches to refresh space, increase accessibility and enable greater access to power outlets

Brampton Library’s draft Facilities Master Plan (FMP) creates a renewed vision for library development, guiding investments in our existing branches and the construction of new ones over the next 10 years. In our eight existing branches and online, Brampton Library is your neighbourhood champion and your place for belonging. Extensive consultation informed the FMP through a community survey, focus groups, workshops and interviews. We have completed a DRAFT Library FMP and want to hear from you before we finalize it! With Brampton’s population expected to grow from 698,000 to 854,000 over the next 10 years, proactive facility planning is essential for Brampton Library to effectively deliver on its mandate to serve the needs of existing residents along with the 156,000 new residents that are forecasted to be added by 2031.

Whether you are a regular or occasional Brampton Library visitor, if you access our digital collections, follow us on social media, or even if you haven’t had a chance to drop in recently, we want to hear from you!
