From the CEO Brampton Library is happy to announce our incredible lineup of free programming for January to March 2024, with a particular focus on Black History Month in February. Part of the Library’s mission is to facilitate social cohesion. Our programs can help bring people together, they are geared towards providing a discovery of something new, welcoming all skill levels. My challenge to you is this: pick a program on a topic you know the least about, where you’ll be getting together with people you don’t know to explore it. You’ll be amazed at the connections you can create! Whether it is something old or something new, I’m sure you will find something in this guide to interest you. For school age kids and teens, there’s a full lineup of March Break activities including technology, arts, reading, and gaming. I want to extend my thanks to our incredible team of staff who have put together this slate of events, and to the wonderful community partners who support us. In particular, I’m grateful to Brampton’s Black community who are collaborating on events related to wellness, literature, business and culture, and to the Legacy of Hope Foundation, who have supplied the travelling display A National Crime: The Residential School System in Canada. I am also happy to announce that a full range of programs is now being offered at our Chinguacousy Branch which has relocated from the Brampton Civic Centre to the Chinguacousy Park Ski Chalet, near the southwest corner of Central Park Drive and Bramalea Road. While we work on finding a larger, permanent location to serve the community, I invite you to check out our location in the park. Todd Kyle CEO, Brampton Library
