Author, entrepreneur and International speaker Daniel Lewis is the proud founder of the award winning tea company Daniel’s Chai bar (formerly known as T By Daniel.) His people-focused outlook on entrepreneurship and his experiential business tactics have garnered him and his company nationwide recognition and many awards and honours such as a 2016 Business Excellence Award and 2017 Top 40 Under 40 Entrepreneurs and just recently 2022 Global Visual Victories Silver Medal for most creative Pop-Up Store Design.
Daniel’s success with his retail tea brand has even landed him an opportunity to serve HRH King Charles III during his 2017 Royal Tour in Canada. With his official public speaking platform iAMDaniel.ca he touches on his non-traditional approaches to retail, marketing, customer service, sales and the world of entrepreneurship with audiences all across Canada and abroad.
Donna Fagon-Pascal BBOT Past Chair VP HR, Comms + PR Dynacare, and North Central USACurrently leading the Human Resources, Communication and PR function at a leading Canadian health and wellness solutions provider – as Vice-President, Human Resources, Communications and Public Relations, as well as the North Central US for LabCorp (parent company), Donna leads a team of 40 professionals and is responsible for overseeing organizational effectiveness, diversity and inclusion initiatives, communications, public relations, community giving, learning and development, talent management, talent acquisition, wellness and health and safety. Internally, Donna and her team are focused on creating an inclusive culture that inspires, grows talent and allows employees to thrive at work and at home. Externally, Donna is also responsible for community engagement and public relations and plays a key role in building the brand within the communities the company serves.
Donna is an elected member of the Brampton Board of Trade’s Board of Directors and has served in this role since 2017. In this capacity, Donna helps to support economic prosperity in the city of Brampton, Ontario – the province’s fourth-largest city.
Joe is the President of ALMAG Aluminum, an award winning, service-driven, custom aluminum extruder based in Brampton ON, with plants in Ardmore and Florence AL. Over the past 68 years, ALMAG has built a reputation as an industry leader in extruding high-visual, tight tolerance, thin-walled, and complex aluminum extrusions.
Joe Jackman CEO & PresidentJoe graduated from Lakehead University with a Bachelor of Administration Degree, and Durham College with a Business Administration Diploma – majoring in Accounting with a minor in Marketing at both schools. Joe has been with ALMAG for over 16 years and has held the positions of Territory Manager, VP Sales & Marketing, and General Manager. As President, he is responsible for leading the company’s strategic direction and driving its continued growth and success. He has a keen passion for progress and desire to find solutions. He thrives on challenges and raising people to their highest potential. Joe is a member of the Board of Directors for the Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) as well as a member of both the AEC-Academic Engagement Team and the AEC Marketing Team.
Johanne Rappoccio General ManagerClimateWorx
Johanne currently holds the position of General Manager at ClimateWorx and Mechatronic Division at Bempro Global Group. A long-term strategic planner by nature, Johanne has nearly 30 years of operations management experience in the advanced manufacturing sector. While passionate towards local sourcing, Johanne also welcomes the challenge of expanding borders as companies and communities seek to establish their foothold in an increasingly global economy. With “Industry 4.0” and the “Internet of Things” interconnectivity rapidly gaining momentum, Johanne advocates for inclusivity and collaboration amongst industry, government, academia and the Brampton community. A native of Montreal, and a graduate of U of T and Queens, Johanne has been a Director of the Brampton Board of Trade since 2018.
Prior to his current role, Aman was the executive in charge for TD Commercial Auto Financing for Ontario and Atlantic Canada. He has worked in 3 provinces, BC, Alberta and Ontario during his 16 year tenure with TD Bank.
Fred’s career spans over 34 years with Maple Lodge Farms. It began in marketing and has progressed through increasingly more responsible positions including Vice President of Marketing, Vice President of Business Development and Sr. Vice President of Business Development, Operations and Logistics. As the current COO, Fred oversees all operations at this major Brampton employer.
Jeremy serves as Director of Learning and Development for Konica Minolta Business Solutions Canada. His passion for clear, empathetic, and research driven learning is what drives his team; from education to awareness and skills development. Facing outward, it’s about engaging and educating our community of clients and peers. Internally, it’s about professional development and nurturing our company culture.
Jeremy MacBean Director of Marketing & CommunicationsAs part of Lawrences’ Business Law Group, Louis advises owner-managed businesses on all aspects of private company law, including business acquisitions and divestitures, business structures, corporate finance and security, corporate reorganizations, business succession strategies and corporate governance. Additionally, Louis has a special focus on franchise law advising franchisors as well as franchisees on all aspects of franchise law, including compliance with franchise laws and regulations, buying and selling franchises, franchise disputes and exit strategies, and renewal and termination of franchises. In addition to other professional and community involvements, Louis has been an active member of the Brampton Broad of Trade since 2012.
In her role, Lindsey is committed to strategic innovation, partnerships and interdisciplinary problem based learning. Prior to her current role, Lindsey was associate dean at Fanshaw College’s School of Applied Science and Technology, where she lead the development of Fanshaw’s Cannabis Certificate and Welding and Fabrication Diploma Program. Prior to her role at Fanshaw, Engel taught at George Brown College’s Health Informatics Certificate Program and held leadership roles at both George Brown and Niagara College. Lastly, Lindsey holds a Masters of Arts in Gerontology from Mount Vincent University with plans to pursue doctoral studies examining barriers to entry for international students and into professional degrees.
Usha Srinivasan is the inaugural Director of Brampton Venture Zone, a purposedriven incubator located in & funded by the City of Brampton and operated by TMU. She is a strategic innovation leader, collaborative community builder, and entrepreneurship maven. Her career since the late 90s spans academic research, market research consulting, and innovation ecosystem building. Usha was responsible for building the MaRS entrepreneurship services in her former role as Vice President of Venture and Talent programs. She has recently taken on the challenge of building and scaling the BVZ Venture launched in 2020 and looks forward to coaching entrepreneurs and scaling businesses to solve local challenges. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Microbiology and a business degree from Standford GSB in Corporation Innovation.
Kate is a lawyer with Prouse, Dash & Crouch LLP. With her thoughtful approach to client needs and careful attention to detail, Kate is able to assist her clients to make well informed decisions whether they are developing an estate plan, administering an estate, or buying, selling, or mortgaging a property. Kate offers her clients strategic legal thinking that is both compassionate and supportive in matters which are often emotionally charged. Born and raised in Brampton, Kate joined PDC upon her return to her hometown after university. Kate began with PDC as an articling student in 2011 and joined the firm as an associate in 2012.
As Assistant-Vice President of International Intermodal, Girish is responsible for all Sales and Marketing components of CN’s International Intermodal business. Reporting to the Vice President of Intermodal, Girish’s primary role is to enable CN’s customers to win in their markets and build the physical & digital infrastructure needed to catapult CN as a leading transportation provider within North America for decades to come, while attracting the best talent of next generation Railroaders. In his current role, Girish is responsible for managing all relationships with Ocean carriers and Port stakeholders on the three coasts that CN serves. Prior to this role, Girish was responsible for the entire customer service team at Consumer product Supply Chain group where he oversaw the customer experience within all segments of Intermodal & Automotive business.
Kanwar Dhanjal PresidentJust
Kanwar is a technocrat with over 30 years experience in the instrumentation and process control automation sector. He is the founder of Just Instruments Inc., an ISO 9001-2015 accredited company, which serves the process control industry in food, beverage and bakery sectors. He is an entrepreneur with vast experience in the field of industrial instrumentation and automation. Just Instruments provides full service of calibration, validation, sales, repairs and complete automation solutions for process control instrumentation with complete satisfaction in a professional way that focuses on honesty, integrity and creativity. Kanwar is a life member of the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce and led the ICCC as President in 2017-18. Kanwar has been an active volunteer with the Brampton Board of Trade, serving on the International Trade Committee as chair, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and was the recipient of the Inaugural Chair’s Award in 2017. He was awarded the Pride of India in 2020 by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce. He is also a licensed realtor. He volunteers with various non-profit organizations such as Sai Dham Food bank.
Todd LettsTodd has been building strong businesses and healthy communities for more than 30 years. Todd is CEO of the Brampton Board of Trade, representing businesses that employ more than 61,000 in Brampton. He concurrently serves as Vice-Chair of the Americas Region for the World Chambers Federation of the International Chamber of Commerce and a Director for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE). Specializing in strategy and operational effectiveness, Todd contributes thought leadership to many chambers and boards of trade on the topic of chamber model innovation. Highly respected by his peers, Todd has been named the 2022 Chamber Executive of the Year in Canada. In 2015, Todd was awarded the James Carnegie Award for leadership and mentorship by Chamber Executives of Ontario. He is a founding member of the Canadian Global Cities Council and Canada’s Innovation Corridor Business Council. Todd is a Ford fellow in Regionalism & Sustainable Development, an honour bestowed by the United States Ford Foundation. He is the former chair of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Executives Council (CCEC).
