Fredgy Noël SEVEN DAYS IN NEW YORK (2016, 49 minutes, digital) Seven Days In New York is a feature documentary that follows the lives of seven charismatic New Yorkers in their daily routines. The film mirrors the days of the week with each subject chronicled on a separate day. Shot in an observational, cinema verité style, with an original jazz score, the film records the subjects of the film—unique personalities who capture the New York of past and present

9:45PM NEWFILMMAKERS SECOND FEATURE PRESENTATION

Rachel Wortell & Dan Erickson A SIBLING MYSTERY (2016, 80 minutes, digital) A brother and sister become consumed with investigating a mysterious woman they suspect has stolen their winning lottery ticket, endangering their summer party plans.

A young charismatic preacher and his hot Latina girlfriend travel Route66 scamming the small churches along the way only to find that the bogus healing powers he portrays become real. The healing powers serve as a blessing and a curse. Irish Film Critic (James McDonald): “Director Norman McGuire, shows a natural gift for storytelling and stylistic camera movement. While the movie subscribes to convention, Jesse James elevates it above board and gives a wonderfully nuanced performance as a spiritually troubled protagonist, desperately wanting to do the right thing, but not always knowing how.” Accolades: The Lucky Man has already won this year at IndieFEST and set for distribution, worldwide, through Indican Films and LIONSGATE. Director’s Note: It’s been said as that one’s background and experiences are the fruits of the scripts we create. If we are lucky enough, we get to tell these stories in moving pictures. This movie was totally a fictional vision that I drew from my life growing up in a small town with family in very deep rooted beliefs in their spirituality. And then of course I always wanted to do my own version of a Bonnie & Clyde flick. -Norman McGuire
