VOLUME II

Welcome

Welcome to our second winter edition of the ‘Determine Your Destiny Bred Female Sale’! We again, pride ourselves on this group of individuals selected for this event! They are made up of a diverse group of females that have either been shown successfully, descended from our influential sow herd, or purchased from other firms. The representation amongst this offering mimics the same quality group that will run through our farrowing house this winter. These are females that we have mated as if we would be farrowing them here. Again, it is a set that should continue the good fortune that our bred female offerings are known for, in producing satisfying results for our customers to experience in their own herds.

Last winter, we put a little different twist on our normal online event and establish a brand to help emphasize the importance of the bred female sale and just how strong of the offerings that we make available are! So, with that, the ABF Determine Your Destiny Bred Female Sale was created. The format of the sale is still the same with showpig.com hosting the online event. The quality of livestock represented is the kind we are known for. We dug deep into the well again to offer females with banner hanging abilities and genetic powerhouse influence that have garnered us a large portion of our major wins in recent years. Females both new and established, within a multitude of breeds, will make up this offering!

To say we are excited about the group we have put together for you, would be a severe understatement! The depth and quality of these females are ones that we feel can suit the most critical evaluators. They carry the lineage and phenotype to establish foundational pieces for potential buyers or help boost the arsenal of proven firms already in place. The herd building opportunities this event makes available are that kind that have helped build the ABF herd mark. We are excited to share with you the 2nd Winter Edition of the ABF Determine Your Destiny Bred Female Sale and hope you can see the pride we hang on the group within this sale!

We would be remorse to not extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone that has believed in the ABF brand during its tenure. It is something we have built based on passion for this industry and are fortunate enough to have been able make it our livelihood. The rewards and successes have been great, but the friendships made are greatest rewards!

Thanks again for your interest in this event and our program! Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have about this offering. We hope your DESTINY awaits you on December 8th!

DETAIL forDESTINY BERKSHIRE 10-6

“10-6 has all the traits to be Lot 1 and we are excited about the future she will have for her new owner. Fundamentals are all in check here and being mated to Special Effect, the $140,000 Exposition Champion, should be a homerun on her. She also comes with a farrowing date that should fit a wide variety of show windows. Potential for quick ROI and a boost to any Berkshire program with 10-6!”

PEDIGREE :: (COLDWATER X BACK HOME) SERVICE SIRE :: SPECIAL EFFECT DUE DATE :: 12/25

10-6 is a lady very deserving of Lot 1 in this particular lineup and special kind of female to kick off our 2022 winter offering of the Determine Your Destiny Bred Sale! 10-6 not only comes with a banner to her name, but she is backed by one of the strongholds of our Berkshire program that last several years. 10-6 was the Champion Berkshire Gilt at the 2020 NAILE shown by Hunter Logue. Her Back Home dam was purchased from Mauck’s as a bred in 2017 after her successful show career, most notably finishing 2nd in class to the Supreme Overall Female and Champion Berkshire at OYE. The lineage and influence of 10-6 runs deep with Mauck blood and success as the mother of the Back Home sow was a 38-litter female and those were responsible for huge wins including Supreme Gilt at OYE and 5th Overall Barrow at Iowa. Those 38 litter females are full sibs to 14-3 that we sold bred last winter. 14-3 made the Reserve Overall Gilt at California and 6th Overall Gilt at Indiana in 2017. Big-time stuff here is you’re serious about the Berkshire business!!!

“56-8 is an older female with plenty of gas yet to burn! She is an impressive female that has big time generating potential. She has done big things for us, and we feel she could be carrying her best mating yet. Again, mating her to Special Effect was the easiest thing to do. Deciding to offer her was by far the most difficult. Another ideal due date to hit lots of show targets. Take advantage of the kind that have built the ABF brand!”

DETAIL forDESTINY BERKSHIRE 56-8

56-8 is without question a SALE HIGHLIGHT!!! She is one of the most productive matriarchs of any breed or color at ABF. She was a phenomenal show gilt and has been an incredible sow. She was shown by our daughter Kayla in the summer of 2017 where she earned the title of Reserve Overall Gilt & Champion Berkshire at the Team Purebred Jr National. Her generating abilities have been immense as she produced the following: Champion Berkshire Gilt 2018 WI State Fair, Champion Berkshire Gilt 2020 SWTC, and 71-8 (mother of Lot 3 in this sale). Furthermore, her mother is the old Kentucky Lovin’ sow, and if you know our Berkshire program then it’s no secret what her influence was for us. Big time opportunity to cement the quality of this sale!!!

“17-9 was an incredible baby pig that looked to part her entire show career and still does today in the sow pen! When we set out to select females for this offering, we want them to have clout and be appealing to the buyer. This one put big check marks next to that criteria! Then when you see she is bred to Mommaa Tried, the very popular boar at Southern Superior, for an early January litter, it only makes the opportunity that more exciting. Fans of good livestock should be on board on 17-9!”

17-9 is one of our favorite Berkshire show gilts in recent years! She was campaigned successfully in the summer of 2021 by Kipton Edie, and most notably being named 4th Overall Berkshire Gilt at the NJSS. Winning comes from her pedigree as her mother (71-8) was the Champion Bred & Owned Berkshire Gilt in 2019 at both the Exposition and Team Purebred Jr National. Her littermate brother was named 4th Overall Berkshire Barrow at the Team Purebred Jr National as well. The grandmother of 17-9 is 56-8 (Lot 2), and if you read her accolades on the previous page, it’s easy to see why this is good stuff for the ABF Berkshire brand. We LIKE

DETAIL forDESTINY BERKSHIRE 5-6

“5-6 has been a fun one to utilize here at ABF in her short tenure! She is one that we felt could make an impact to our Berkshire herd, but with our decision downsize our Berkshire numbers we wanted to make her a sale highlight! An awesome looking lady that is backed by some power packed genetics. We stepped outside the box when we mated her in hopes of making a boar for the stud. We selected Fair Warning at Coulson Showpigs. He is a Wild Thing sired son that is a littermate to the Supreme Overall Purebred Gilt & Champion Berkshire at 2022 OYE. We felt his wild look and presence would be a match made in heaven. LOVE this mating and this female! TAKE ADVANTAGE!”

DATE :: 01/19 5-6 could easily be summed up as a SALE FEATURE!!! She is an incredible way to wrap up our Berkshire portion of this offering! We are bold enough to say she is possibly the BEST BERKSHIRE FEMALE WE HAVE EVER RAISED! She not only had a very decorated show career, but she hails from a long list of winning showpigs. 5-6 started off being named Reserve Champion Berkshire Gilt at the inaugural Breeders’ Cup in 2021 then went on to be crowned the Reserve Overall Gilt & Champion Berkshire at the 2021 Team Purebred Mid-South Regional. Her mother was 26-3, who was the 5th Overall Gilt & Champion Berkshire at the 2017 IN State Fair Jr Show. A littermate to 26-3 was the Reserve Supreme Overall Gilt at 2017 California State Fair that went on to sell for $18,500. Furthermore, 26-3 was a full sib to Family Jewels. 5-6 herself, has done a bang-up job for us in the crate and most recently produced a Class Winning Berkshire Barrow at the Indiana State Fair for the Hartzell Family. A genetic force and impressive specimen that still has lots in the tank. A BIG TIME OPPORTUNITY!!!

PEDIGREE :: (LAST DROP X LIFETIME) SERVICE SIRE :: REAL DEAL DUE DATE :: 12/24

55-8 starts off a very dense set of Duroc bred females within this offering! An older female that is still plenty viable with a pedigree that combines two of the winningest Duroc boars within the breed in the last decade. 55-8 has been an exceptionally good generator and recently produced the 6th & 12th Overall Duroc Barrows at OYE and a Class Winning Duroc Gilt at the NJSA SE Regional in ‘21. The grand dam of 55-8 was a littermate to the Grand Overall Gilt at the ‘16 American Royal. The dominance that both Last Drop and Lifetime caused should make this a no miss opportunity that still has plenty of shelf life to her. 41-6 continues the list of quality Duroc females within this offering! An everyday kind of female that is a genetic giant with tons of generating potential. She was a high placing female at the Southeast Regional earlier this year, but we feel her real value lies in her pedigree. Sired by Double Up, the linebred Last Drop boar that stood at Crossroads, and out of He-Man 60-3, makes her a winning combination. The value of having 60-3 in her pedigree is stout if you read the previous page, and when you tie in one of the dominant sow lines of ABF with the Last Drop stuff, it gets really good in a hurry. In the past, we have never let loose of daughters of our matriarchs but last year in this sale we started to do that. We again offer that opportunity in 53-6. She is a direct daughter of He’s the One 21-7, more popularly known as the Boling sow here. Her influence in the breed is next level. Her daughters are the cornerstones of our herdmark. Her sons have changed the breed. Her sons like 38 Special, Drop Zone, and Next Up had big time impact with their offspring. 21-5 stems from another good litter as she is a mate to the gilt that Brantley Platt won his class with at the American Royal last fall. She was the Reserve Bred & Owned Landrace Gilt at the 2020 Exposition and was 2nd in Class to her sister. Her sister is the gilt that the Strange family campaigned very successfully all summer long. The Strange gilt (1-6) is a generator as she produced Dr. Strange that we just added in at Crossroads this summer, along with making the Reserve Champion Landrace Gilt at the 2022 NJSS. The dam of those 1 litter gilts (33-9) is also the mother of the Champion Landrace Gilt at Indy and Reserve Landrace Gilt at NJSS in 2021. Furthermore, she is the mother of the 5th Overall Barrow and Champion Landrace at the 2021 Southeast Regional for Whitney Stephenson and the grandmother of Sneak Peek at Crossroads. 1-7 has done a great job in making winners herself!! “33-7 was purchased as an opportunity to tap back into a breed we used to do on a normal basis at ABF! A very good kind of weanling gilt that was fun to feed on. While she never made the show ring for us due to a slight injury, she is 100% and ready to roll now. We decided to offer her in this sale to not only add quality to this event, but we elected to stay in our lane and focus on the breeds we have now and not take on another one at this time. The mating to Fly By, the Turner boar we picked up at STC, should be a fun one! He compliments her as perfectly as any mating could have in this offering. Endless possibilities!”

HAMPSHIRE 33-7

PEDIGREE :: (NO QUESTION X BLACKLIST) SERVICE SIRE :: FLY BY DUE DATE :: 12/25

33-7 is a purebred Hampshire gilt that we picked up from the mighty Lewis Genetics firm at the Sweethearts sale this past spring! A very nice kind of Hampshire female that is royally bred and contains all the good stuff AJ has going on out there in Iowa. The Blacklist dam is the mother of the 6th Overall Barrow & Champion Hampshire at the 2022 Breeders’ Cup, 5th Overall Hampshire Barrow at the 2022 Southeast Regional, Champion Hampshire Barrow at 2021 Iowa State Fair 4-H Show, and Reserve Hampshire Barrow at the 2021 Recovery. The grand dam of 33-7 made the 3rd Overall Hampshire Gilt at the 2019 Exposition, Reserve Hampshire Barrow at the 2018 Iowa State Fair, and Reserve Hampshire Barrow at the 2017 Indiana State Fair. A long list of winners that have helped solidify the potency of Lewis Hampshires. Quick opportunity for a big-time litter of purebred Hampshires with the perfect due date to capture most of the summer shows. Take advantage!!!

“47-5 is an impressive kind of female that we are incredibly high on! She was a killer baby and still today looks the part. The success of Lowdermilk spots have been unmatched the last couple summers, especially with Speak Up sired pigs, so that made it a no brainer to breed 47-5 that way. These will be similar bred to that Guyer barrow that dominated the summer of 2021. We love this match up and again should be living proof of what we wanted to offer in this lineup! Good chance of seller’s remorse on this one!”

SPOT 47-5

PEDIGREE :: (BAD APPLE X LOUDMOUTH X DETOX) SERVICE SIRE :: SPEAK UP DUE DATE :: 01/06

47-5 is a female we purchased in the fall of 2021 at Perfect Timing from Lowdermilk! She was one of our favorite females at that sale and with the goal of gathering up a few spots in recent years, felt we needed to own her. She was shown by Mallory Burton where she won her class at Fort Worth. Dam of 47-5 is a Loudmouth X Detox and was the Champion at Fort Worth in 2018. She is also a littermate to the Champion & Reserve at Dixie National in 2018. That Loudmouth female has been the staple of Lowdermilk Showpigs the last few years as she has also produced the Reserve at NAILE and Champion at Springfield in 2019. Furthermore, she is the grand dam of the Guyer barrow from last summer (Bred litter will be

sibs to that barrow), Copenhaver Gilt that was Grand at Springfield last summer, and the 3rd Overall Spot Gilt at Springfield in 2020. The Detox grand dam originated from Mullin & Peters and was very influential for Troy as well. A full sib to her produced the Champion Spot at OYE for M&P. Definitely a royal bred female in 47-5 and one that can jumpstart someone quickly within this breed!!!

“3-7 is quite the high-quality female when you study her phenotypic presence! A genetic giant backed by one of the winningest Crossbred firms in the country is stand alone enough to grab one’s attention. Add in that she is mated to Punisher, the $85k purchase we made at STC in ‘21, and this becomes an easy ROI opportunity. He has dominated in his first pig crop, highlighted by the Res. Overall Gilt at Indy that goes on the sell for $33k, and a boar that we felt was tailor made for the Last Dance influenced lines. One of our favorite opportunities in this event and one that will make someone relevant real quick!”

CROSSBRED 3-7

3-7 represents our lone Crossbred female within this group of bred females but is one we are exceptionally high on and proud to offer! She was bred by the Trogdon firm, and it should be no secret she is backed by an elite female. The mother of 3-7 is a Pistols Firing sow, better known as Last Dance’s mother! She is one of a handful of pigs we bought from them this past spring. Again, one that we aren’t necessarily excited to part with but with our commitment to make this sale as strong as possible, we offer her up to you. Factor in that 3-7 is sired by No Comparison, the dominant Stohlquist boar that now resides at PBG, makes her a big-time sow prospect! The generating potential that lies in 3-7 is huge when you study what the boys from Paris, IL have accomplished and what most of those wins trace back to. SKY IS THE LIMIT on this lot!!! 21-7 is not only rich in blood from a pedigree perspective, but she is also rooted deep in quality! Stout, trendy, and comfortable simply describe her. Big Paw females have generated lots of winners for us, and their daughters are awesome in the crates. We feel 21-7 will follow that trend. Mating her to Hit Stick was a simple selection. The Trogdon boar we brought in last spring is off to a fast start and is perfectly suited for her. We bred lots of sows to him! Due on Christmas Eve makes this a present that can last all summer!”

PEDIGREE :: (KING OF QUEENS X BIG PAW) SERVICE SIRE :: HIT STICK DUE DATE :: 12/24

21-7 starts out a very good set of Yorkshire females that we hand picked for our annual bred event! She is sired by King of Queens, that Queen boar we grabbed at the Expo in 2021. Her mother is sired by the legendary Big Paw and is a littermate to the 4th Overall Barrow & Reserve Yorkshire at NJSS in 2021 shown by Brayden Lancaster. The grand dam of 21-7 was Reserve Division Champion at Perry in 2020 and a littermate to Gavin Sinclair’s Reserve Overall Barrow & Reserve Yorkshire at the same show. Great grand dam is one of the prolific 17 litter Leaps and Bounds sows, and if you follow our Yorkshire program, you know their influence. If you don’t, then know that’s as good as it gets here when you see a 17 litter pop up. We love this female, and she reads like one that can be around a long time!!!

7-2 is the prototype for what we expected out of Dynamite! Sleek looking, level built, and durable. A no miss pedigree in a female that simply isn’t messed up. She looks like one that can fit a wide variety of sires and make them work. We elected to use Ground Game, the Jasper son we added in at Crossroads, as we felt his combination of stoutness and density will click perfectly with her. Due at the end of the year make the target range wide. Take advantage!”

7-2 is another Yorkshire female that should do good things! Her pedigree is one that has generated lots of income, hung lots of banners, and provided multiple replacements for us. Carbon Copy was a boar that never got his just due because on an injury but made a phenomenal set of sows. The impact that Dynamite females have had not only at ABF, but across the board, will be felt for a long time. They make up some our best Yorkshire females in production and 7-2 reads like she can add to that for you. Excellent kind of Yorkshire female with a loaded pedigree. A winning combination!!!

YORKSHIRE 15-5

PEDIGREE :: (DYNAMITE X TIMES UP) SERVICE SIRE :: HIT STICK DUE DATE :: 01/03

15-5 is without question a SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY!!! A Yorkshire female that we are exceptionally proud to offer up and solidify how strong we feel this offering is. We mentioned on the previous lot how important Dynamite females are the ABF. That rings true here again. The mother of 15-5 is where this lot needs the attention drawn to. She is a daughter of Times Up 22-7. We purchased 22-7 from Kilmer, along with several of her sisters as babies in 2020 and still to this day, is one of the best litters of Yorkshires we have seen. That litter included Brantley Platt’s Grand Overall Gilt, Hege’s 5th Overall Yorkshire Gilt, and Rodibaugh’s 4th Overall Heavy Division Yorkshire Gilt at the 2020 Summer Jr Show. The female that Hege showed was retained by Kilmer and in her first litter produced the $100K Turning Point and $50K Majority Rules. 22-7 herself, is the mother of the pair of Yorkshire Gilts that dominated the 2022 Texas majors. Wins include Champion & Reserve York Gilts at Fort Worth, Reserve York Gilt at San Antonio, Reserve Overall Gilt & Champion Yorkshire and Reserve Yorkshire Gilt at San Angelo, and Champion Yorkshire Gilt at Houston. Ground Game that stands at Crossroads is also a littermate to those gilts. This is the cream of the crop of our Yorkshire program! RARE OPPORTUNITY in 15-5!!!

“8-10 is very good kind of Yorkshire female! One that is timeless in her build and comfortability and patterned appropriately from the side. Tie in her potent pedigree matched with Hit Stick as her service sire and we feel this has home run potential. Hit Stick has consistently been making big muscled, sharp looking pigs that have those extras it takes. This is a PRIME OPPORTUNITY!” -Adam Beck

YORKSHIRE 8-10

8-10 continues on a very strong set of Yorkshire bred females that we have selected for this offering! Again, sired by King of Queens, the popular Queen boar from the 2021 Exposition we partnered with Rodibaugh on. While the top side of 8-10 packs a punch, we love the bottom side of her pedigree the most! The Uproar 18-7 mother was a Class Winner at the NJSA Southeast Regional in 2020 and followed that up by producing the 5th Overall Yorkshire Barrow at the 2021 NJSA SE Regional shown by Brayden Lancaster in her first litter. The grandma of 8-10 sweetens the deal a whole bunch when we tell you she is one of our prevalent 17 litter Leaps sows. This particular one was the 5th Overall Gilt & Champion Yorkshire in Indy for our daughter Kayla. Another prime example of the good stuff when you talk about ABF Yorkshires!!!

“19-4 is one of the older females within this offering but is one that is only getting started! Lots of life left to give and some clout to work off of. She is highlighted with wins and backed but generating individuals that have helped make a name for us. She has always preformed well in the crate, and we expect her to do the same for you. Her mating to Hit Stick could be her very best yet! We love the pigs we have gotten out of this boar, and he bred more sows her this time that any other sire. We think this will be an out of the park mating and quick opportunity to make a statement!

GRAB AHOLD OF THIS ONE!”

19-4 wraps up our Yorkshire selections out with a BANG! A SALE FEATURE no doubt! Lots of decorated titles come with her and her history is full of purple! She is the Champion Yorkshire Gilt from the 2019 IN State Fair Jr Show and 5th Overall Yorkshire Gilt at the NJSS. She has been a great generator for us with her highlight being producing the Champion Division 3 Yorkshire Gilt at the 2021 NJSS and 5th Overall Division 2 Yorkshire Gilt at the 2021 Exposition. The litter that 19-4 hails from was deep as a sister was named 5th Overall Division 1 Yorkshire Gilt at 2019 NJSS and another one produced the 4th Overall Barrow & Champion Yorkshire at the 2021 Exposition. The Proven Journey dam has been lights out for us. She won her class at expo in 2018 and was the $6,000 High Seller. A prime opportunity to get a piece of the heart of the ABF Yorkshire herd. DIVE IN!!!
