01 mission statement Bird Watch is an organization with only one goal in mind: finding the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker and preserving its environment. Using the newest technology available to us and geo-location tracking, we are optimistic that we will be able to locate the very few woodpeckers left in the world today.

02 logo The logo is recognizable in both color and black and white and will appear both ways. The logo was created with a concept of finding the bird in mind. The logo is derived from the geo-loaction icon combined with the iconic crest of the Ivory-billed woodpecker. The beak was formed using the extension of the "I". The text also incorporates the "I" in bird to connect to the beak and head.

03 typeface The typeface played a very critical role in connecting the mark with the type. The round, thin font, Mavin Pro Light, matched the style of the mark.

04 colors Red, black and brown are the primary colors used throughout the print works. Red gives the organization a sense of urgency which is appropriate based on the mission. Brown provides the basis of nature, as does the texture of the brown paper. Black is a neat staple that offers organization and consistency throughout.

05 business card A stamp of the logo was created in order to give the letterhead, envelopes, business cards, etc a sense of imperfect texture. This reflects the adventure-like nature of bird spotting and the search for the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker.

06 letterhead The letterhead is two sided, displaying a subtle version of the radar-like graphic on the back. The front displays the logo and the organization's contact information. This design also reinforces the design of the business card, which strings all of the elements together.

As Bird Watch members, we are trying to make a positive difference through our actions. We have begun a project to locate the ivory-billed woodpecker by sending out scouts all over the world. Our goal is to make our community a better place for people, animals and the environment. In order to complete this project, we need binoculars and monetary funds to pay for our volunteer’s airfare and research. We would be most grateful if Jones Steel could donate any of these items to help us implement our project. If you are interested, we will keep you informed with regular updates on the progress of our project. Please contact me at brandonvento@birdwatch.com if you are able to help. If we don’t hear from you within a week, we will contact you personally. Thank you for your time and for considering this request. We look forward to working with you and creating a stronger community. Sincerely,

Brandon Vento
